Actually, D2, people always praised my artwork. I was the "class artist." That was my rise to fame. The reason I failed art is because I was such a perfectionist and wouldn't turn in anything until I was satisfied (which was never). Needless to say, I got way behind on the assignments.
What should it be about Middy?
And will it star Raul?

I love drawing people but I just can't hack landscapes, or anything else for that matter.
People are so much more interesting. A flower is a flower. You draw it, it's pretty. People can be really beautiful or ugly on the outside, but drawing a person isn't just drawing their outside, you have to show both how they look and how the think or feel, all on one page. it's so much more exciting.
I dropped Art from September.
mmm, Raul! I don't find him that physically attractive, but man his voice gets me every time, lol!
Can I direct this new play???
Stagey yes I did read your Spanish lesson. But I already knew that much. It's the irregular verbs that are hard for me. estoy, estas, esta, esta, estamos, estais, estan, estan. See :) and yes I know I didn't do the accents. My keyboard won't cooperate on those right now.
I like to draw, too. I'm just not very good. Especially at drawing people. I can draw landscapes better. They don't move.
Ok Midnight- you write it, the boys can do the music (cause there's more than one of them that are good at it) and I'll act. Now who's gonna be the leading man? :) Hey! I know! Is it my turn for Adam yet??? lol
Man I took too long to reply. I'll work with Raul too *pant, pant*
I was kidding about Raul Tink. B/c of all the worship he seems to get. I'm in the camp that thinks he sounds like a sheep.
tink, you can direct, polly, you can act. i'll write it. tazzy and the boys can do the music. it can star raul and adam.
now... who has an idea what it should be about?
Raul, shma ool.
You're missing my point, people. It isn't about trying to draw a poodle, or a person, or a flower - we're all far too results driven. The point is to just let your mind wander, let your hand glide across the page and don't judge yourself for whatever it looks like. That's all. It is remarkably relaxing and freeing and opens up channels of creativity you never even suspected you have. And we're all a pretty creative bunch to begin with.
that's ok tazzy we love you any way lol. ok well hmm. love triangle?
It should be about two men, both in their mid-thirties, who can't seem to commit to anybody, and all their crazy married friend who keep trying to fix them up.
wait wasn't that Company?
hmm, I think it should be about Adam getting lost in my dungeon. But i don't know how many others would want to see that...soooo....hmmm, I dunno.
D2 - when i need to do that I redecorate my apartment, lol! Doing that counts as artistic, right?
When my mind wanders my hand usually isn't going for the paper Deet.
But all jokes aside, it sounds like a really productive idea. Have you heard of the "whack pack"?
actually, i write too. and I have started a book. We can use it as the basis for the play. But it's kind of a romance novel. So since Tazzy doesn't like Raul, we could make him the bad guy.
No, Polly. COMPANY was about ONE man in his mid thirties who couldn't commit...
This would be about TWO men... sheesh, can't you see the difference?
I could never capture your dungeon musically Pinks. That's our private little chamber.
I agree Raul has "goat" like qualities but I still like it, hehe!
Tazzy has one of his first off color comments for the day!
i've started a book too polly
polly, in Guatemala we don't use estáis (or vosotros, for that matter), and we don't speak like we have a lisp. :)
That's blasphemy, taz! Raúl is a god! (Yes, I find him sexually attractive, Tink.)
I don't hate Raul, I was just making a little joke is all.
I'm off now, be back in a bit.
ok seriously do you guys ever feel stretched in too many directions? I mean (as much as this may seem like bragging & I really don't mean to)I like acting, dancing, drawing (some stuff), music, writing and I crochet, cross-stitch, embroider, plastic canvas, and I know the basics of knitting. Sometimes it just seems like there isn't enough time so I should pick what I want to do but then I get upset like why should I have to pick ya know?
ok totally off on a tangent sorry. I just have never had the opportunity to ask other creative types that question and I have wanted to for a long time.

Trying to channel your creativity into one activity is a task in itself.
tazzy - that is true. some stories should just be left in secrecy.
Polly - "Variety is the spice of life" is the saying I love. I used to have so many different passions, and figured giving up some to focus on others was the right decision. Wrong. I got bored too easily with just a few. Now I am trying to get back into it all.
I know how you feel, Polly, but I've never let myself get caught up in the "I should just do one thing" thing. I write, I draw, sometimes, although rarely, I paint. Whatever I feel like in the moment, although lately the writing has been the really urgent need and what I enjoy the most. But I still take out my sketch pads on a regular basis.
