Soapy - Stokes and Reba are doing it again at the Hollywood Bowl next weekend (with Aaron Lazar as Lt. Cable!) We decided not to go, because all the boxes were sold out, so you really couldn't get closer than about 100 feet to the stage - and that place is SO over-miked, that it really loses any semblance of a 'live' performance. Plus, we just didn't want to risk anything messing with the experience that we can have by putting the DVD in. I've sat and watched him sing that number over-and-over in a row - a few times

haha, DG I so thought of you when I first saw Hugh do that! I am not kidding! :)
I never understood why Laurey was wearing overalls. I mean, it's 1907. Women wore long skirts and corsets then.
I thought that was a great touch - after all, they are out in the wilderness, on a farm. It made perfect sense to me.
DG! I'm stuck in Alabama.

Soapy - that's why DVD's are great!
Tink - you don't even know how I'm DYING to see that new movie with Hugh and Nicole they did in Australia. I keep seeing pics of him as a cowboy on a horse, and . . . well, we're back to that whole 'seeing God' thing again
As bad as I know it would be, I'm holding my breath for the Hugh Jackman in Brokeback: The Musical rumor. I think if they paired him with Cheyenne Jackson, I'd have my very first seeing god moment.
hehehe, I know. I constantly see the promotion and on set photos....yummy!

Soapy - If I tried to watch those two simulating sex on a stage, I'd have my first 'arrested in a Broadway theatre' moment
It might seem practical from a modern point of view, but it's an anachronism.
ETA: That was for Deet, my love.
I think it is against the laws of nature for that to happen Soapy. Too pretty and too perfect of a situation, therefore won't happen. You thought The Producers had high priced tickets in the beginning of their run??? I could only imagine what that would bring in, hehe.
Not necessarily, Stagey. Haven't you seen old photographs with farm women in overalls from roughly the same era, if not before?
Re: overalls. I did think it was odd at first, but then it helped set her apart from the rest and develop her character.

We actually have pics like that from old family albums (from Oklahoma, Kansas and Iowa.) When alone on the farm, they did what they needed to to be practical.
Tink,
DG! , LOL!
Frankly, women should go back to wearing floor-length skirts.

Soapy - I actually came close once already with him! I was barely handling (no pun intended) his costume changes in BOY FROM OZ (on stage - down to a dance-belt!) and THEN he put a big ole lip-lock on Jared Emick, and I gasped out loud.
Now THAT'S a GOD moment!
Deet took the words right out of my mouth.
stagey you have voiced that opinion before. I told you then & i'm telling you again. NO. you want someone to wear floor length skirts, you wear them
There was a time when women were women and men were men... *sigh*
*looks at watch*
Say what?
... and sheep were scared.
Yeah. . .I'm going to turn in for the night. Do a little reading then head to bed. I hope all of you have an AMAZING Saturday night.
I'm in love!!!!!!
Just had to share!
