geek -- I have qualms with Richardson myself, particularly since it was he who started the whole National Emergency on the border nightmare -- suffice to say I am left of left and have little respect for the sovereignty of artificially drawn lines - which is why C1 is having to work so hard to get my primary vote. Still, I raised him to think for himself, and that he has established, he is doing quite well- certainly better than most of his peers.

Well good for him! I'm so glad there are other kids out there like me. Every time I hear half of my class saying they're not planning on voting or staring at me like I'm crazy whenever I say the name "Dennis Kucinich" it makes me feel like the only teenager in the world who gives a damn about the leaders of our country. But at least there are a few of us out there. Your son sounds like a great kid.

Deet - I should always hope only to disagree with you in a respectful manner. :) And as I've been saying I still have not decided whether I loved or hated -- but I most definitely don't have ambivalent feelings either way. Now, truth be told, it's Nine I am waiting breathlessly for...indeed I've been encouraging my best friend to call Harvey and reignite her producing career after the strike so that I can tag along onset with her.

Radi, I was having a discussion with a friend over the weekend, a staunch Democrat, and he was saying he hopes Huckabee gets the Republican nomination because that will ensure a Democrat sweep in the fall. What are your thoughts about that?

I've actually heard that a LOT, Deet, and I can't say I disagree with it completely. Though my rationale is, why play with fire? Don't hope for a candidate you can't stand but think will lose because you'll be completely screwed if they win.

geek- yup there's a few, but then I've been a hack and an activist my whole life...so a bit of like mother like son. Indeed, my first campaign, Presidential that is, was 1988 -- I was a Biden girl before the plagiarism disaster. If the truth I still have a soft spot for him now.

Radi, I too am looking forward to NINE. And truth be told (he says with an embarrassed shrug) I'm kind of looking forward to MAMMA MIA too. It looks like fun. There, I said it.

Hah...and I'm not just saying that because I need all the job karma I can get right now. I actually really enjoy interviews, and tend to do really well at them...its the GETTING them that is hard in my industry.

Sweeney and Nine are two of my all time favorite shows so it's clearly going to be a banner year for me.

Gypsy was already done (and despite whay most people think, I love it) but don't you think ot could be done again?

Huckabee has always been the only Republican in this campaign that scares the living **** out of me - the rest are relatively easy wins. I have been saying it for many months: He could quite easily win the general election, I do NOT want him to come out of the primaries.

I love Nine a LOT, and I have a really cool concept for directing it if one day I ever get the chance. I hope the film adaptaion does it justice. I have seen some really bad productions of it that make me very anxious.

Taz, I think the best film version of GYPSY has yet to be made. The two earlier ones are not without their merits, but they don't quite work for me. (Although Natalie Wood is still the best Louise, period.)

I know, Radi - as I said earlier, I'm afraid that if he does come out of the primaries it will be a disaster.

About Nine..well I adore Raul Julia. You cannot believe how relieved I was when Javier was cast. I swear he LOOKS like Raul, at least his eyes...there is an ethereal sexiness haunted thing that makes them both something beyond physically attractive. Alas, it's stuck in a holding pattern because of the strike. Goddess only knows when it will begin shooting, which as I keep telling S is the essential reason they will need her genius script consulting skills -- that and I can just lurk happily onset as her lackey.



Edit: good luck dolphin...benefits are GREAT! For example, I am being paid to just sit here on my butt drinking coffee and eating chocolate and talking with you all!
