geek -- yup and I was thinking January 7 sounds good too...tis' the Jon Stewart will be back and Nov 4.. I'm taking the whole day off. ...I died for a few minutes on the side of a Texas highway from carbon monoxide poising and by fortune a med student was hitchhiking across the road and came to my parents aide. Every day since good and bad has been some form of Christmas....that's my soppy sentimentalism quota for the day.
That's amazing, radi. Everyone should have an experience like that, we'd all be happier people.
Nov. 4 is a week before my birthday. If I go to school away from here I'll probably come back to Pittsburgh for election Day and stay back in school on the 12th. THAT'S how excited I am for election day. I was looking forward to the 3rd more than Christmas. Still am.
I have no idea what you are talking about, matty!
**bats eyes innocently**
jesus bleeping god, Camy's hot.
Oh wow, radi. I am glad that person was walking by.
that she is, jaily!
geek -- I know -- me too! It's even more exciting for me because it's my oldest son's FIRST election, he turns 18 just before the registration cutoff here.
spidey...thanks. I pretty grateful myself...I've always wondered what specialty that guy wound up selecting.
You better have trained him well. We need as many young people who vote in this country as we can get.
Hello, hello, hello!
i had registered to vote, but it was all screwy during the last election, so I never got to. Everything is cool now, so I am excited to vote in my first presidential election.
Deetey!
How was Sweeney for the bazillionth time?
D2!!!!
It was only my second time, but I loved it. I know it is generating much heated discussion all across the board, but I think it is a brilliant piece of film-making.
I actually came home and lighted candles rather than turn on the lights. It's very romantic here right now.
ETA: TINK! Thank you!
So what are you doing on BWW???
The atmosphere is romantic. The doctor is still at the hospital.
Glad you enjoyed yourself! er. well, you know what I mean!
After five or six hours I'm still very ambivalent about the film. I can't make up my mind what I thought about it. That might be because I had my eyes closed for all the bloody bits--so about half the movie--so I didn't see all of it.
hello Deet. Hello martini.
Hi Deet!
geek -- Oh yeah I have...I am still totally undecided. He is actively lobbying me to vote for his candidate which is Bill Richardson...you know, I have to say he could have chosen much worse people to get behind...I was impressed when he made his decision....
Hey all,
Whatever you do do NOT see The Heartbreak Kid. It really has no good qualities. I wasted my night on it, and I wish I could have it back.
Akiva
I'm a Sweeneyac. I saw the original production 8 times. I saw both revivals twice each. I've seen the NYC Opera production several times. And I think the film version is nearly perfect. I know, and cant' really argue with, what other people are saying about Depp, Bonham Carter, Burton, whatever..., but the movie works for me on every level. I wondered how I was going to react to it this afternoon, if I'd be as taken with it as I was on Friday, and I'm thrilled that I had an even deeper reaction today. For me, the film version of SWEENEY TODD is as close to perfection as it could possibly be.
I'm not personally a fan of Richardson, but he's grown on me a little the past couple months. I'm still undecided as well--there are so many of them that I like but dislike at the same time. I was gung-ho for Kucinich both this time and in '04 before he realized he had no shot and pretty much stopped campaigning. I dunno what I'm gonna do now, I guess we'll see who gets the nom and then I'll make the decision whether to back them or not.
"hello Deet. Hello martini."
Taz, it almost seems as if that greeting is interchangeable.
Deet - I've never had the chance to see it (will finally have the opportunity this Spring when it comes through)...my problem with the movie is the Burton/Depp collaboration seems to have worn itself out but I'd already been feeling that. Indeed, the only reason I did not walk out of Willy Wonka was Elfman's absolute brilliance on the Oopma Loompa songs. To me anyway, I think it would have been better to cast someone new/different...they, as a team, are becoming totally redundant...every movie same as the last.
one is simply an alias Deet.
