So, I just found out that my contract here at Columbia is up tomorrow. Woo hoo!! Just LOVE IT when they give such advance notice, eh?

yes, I'm gonna be out of a job. I was brought into fill in for an assistant project manager who was in a car accident, but they just hired two casual employees and six interns, so they don't need me anymore.
Oh, well. I was over it anyway! :)

Well, I ALWAYS need a cocktail or 3.
I'm not really upset...I have a potential buyer who is very seriously interested in one of my flutes who is coming by on Saturday to give it a spin and hopefully give *me* a check, and that would be enough for a couple months' worth of expenses, which will finance my return to the NYC realtor's market.

A potential "buyer" who is very interested in your "flute" is coming over Saturday to give it a "spin" and hopefully give you a check? What's with the euphemisms? By the way, I'd demand the money (cash, preferably) up-front, if i were you. Speaking as a former/retired "brass flute," of course.
