"You have two kinds of shows on Broadway – revivals and the same kind of musicals over and over again, all spectacles. You get your tickets for The Lion King a year in advance, and essentially a family... pass on to their children the idea that that's what the theater is – a spectacular musical you see once a year, a stage version of a movie. It has nothing to do with theater at all. It has to do with seeing what is familiar.... I don't think the theatre will die per se, but it's never going to be what it was.... It's a tourist attraction." Stephen Sondheim

I worked my first full day today and I really liked it. It's so much fun working in the Castro.
I sold over $700 dollars worth of product! A woman came in and said that she wanted to spoil her boyfriend and asked for suggestions. I practically sold her the entire mens line, plus my favorite eau de parfume and a few soaps. I think the total was just under $250. Wowza!
I'm off tomorrow. I work Sunday, but I'm off Monday. I hate being part time. I wanna work!
Greetings from NYC, lovers! It was hell getting here (we landed at LGA literally 12 hours after we were supposed to because of weather delays), but I'm soooooo happy right now. We saw Hairspray with our luggage last night (after a mad dash from the airport) and I just got back from PATTI LUPONE Gypsy. How that woman performs that way 8 times a week is beyond me. Tonight is [title of show], and I'm so excited.
I can't believe I have to leave this beautiful city tomorrow.
