Love her or hate her, and for either reason, Rosie on THE VIEW was the best live tv of the decade with the possible exception of Tina Fey as Sarah Palin. It will NEVER be the same... too much blood was lost during those dark times and Barbara and Bill know it. Sherri was, is and always be there as Barbara's lapdog now that Elizabath has become completely uncontrollable and is the epitome of what many find to be wrong with her entire generation, or at least the conservative faction of it.
Whoopi is probably the best moderator that they could have EVER asked for, for any number of reasons. For this show's purposes, her way of making someone (read: Elizabeth) think she is agreeing with them when really she is illustrating exactly why their argument is wrongheaded, or just plain wrong (read: Elizabeth) is a gift few have. This was what made Rosie such a volatile prescence, among many other things, because she couldn't let anything that she blatently disagreed with fly unless it had at least a LEGITAMITE argument behind it, which it usually didn't. THE VIEW is fun these days pretty much solely to see how far Joy is gonna push it before she makes her inevitable exit in the next few months. She has her own show starting in the fall for chrissakes, you know she ain't doing both for long at 69, particularly when she doesn't have to! She is a little arrogant these days, which isn't jibin' too well with me so maybe good riddance. I still think she should have just waited another year and replaced Larry King full time like she was offerred.
