I think that's playing RUSSIAN ROULETTE, Megan. Windows runs several programs (that may LOOK innocent and harmless) "in the background" but if you delete ANY of them you can trash Windows completely.

Trust me. I've been there.

BWW loads/runs really slowly from my computer at work... the only time I have any problems at home is when I'm in the chat room on here; then my entire computer runs slow.

I have had problems with 'Bad Request' notices. The site will not load, or the server says it is overloaded. I have found if you remove the build up of cookies for broadwayworld.com there is no further problem.

I can't get the website to come up on my apple powerbook at all. It makes me so mad because I have to wait for everyone to get off this computer for me to get to this website. No other website does that with my apple. Only this one.

DJ - what kind of error message are you getting? I'm on a powerbook and I use Safari - the site comes up ok for me... except for those times I have to clean out my cookies once in a while... Updated On: 11/25/04 at 06:34 AM

how exactly do you clean out the cookies on a powerbook. I can't find them anywhere? Also, for some reason my powerbook is on classic mode and I want to get it back to it's normal mode (safari and the updated internet explorer will not work because of it).

To start up using X, go to the System Preferences (under Apple menu), click on 'Startup Disk'. The window should then display what you have available (OS X and Classic). Select OS X, and click re-start.

To clean out cookies, start Safari (I assume if you're on X you're using Safari - MUCH better). Go to 'Preferences' under the Safari menu. Click on 'Security'. There's a button that says 'Show Cookies'. Click on that. Find anything with broadwayworld on it - there's probably a long list - highlight those, and click on the 'Remove' button. After that, the next time you visit BWW you'll have to log in again. If the error you've been getting is 'Bad Request' (or something like that), then removing the cookies should fix it. You'll just have to repeat this from time to time. Updated On: 11/25/04 at 06:52 PM

You know what? NO, this site is NOT 'pissing me off' - because I'm getting out of it what I put into it. And besides, I'm not going to hold a site responsible - especially one that I do NOTHING to help maintain - for any lack of technical capability that exists on my end.

So, quit your pathetic whining and upgrade your system, contribute some money or time to this site or shut the hell up.

Spider...try using a different browser. I have occasionally had trouble when using Safari, but all is well when I switch to IE, Foxfire, or Netscape.

Um, DGrant was that directed at me? Yeah, this site does "piss me off" because I have to constantly restart my computer to be able to read it. I have upgraded my system, so why don't you take your holier than thou attitude, bend right over and shove it straight up your ass. I do hope you plan on responding with one of your patented 12 paragraph responses that we've all come to love and ignore. I don't know what I did to you, but feel free to "rip me a new one". I'm sure all I'll see is "blah blah blah blah blah", like usual.

That's part of human nature.


Rather than act "high and mighty" and get judgmental about it, I think the appropriate thing to do is to accept another member's "rants" for what they are (momentarily loss of temper which quickly fades) rather than put on non-existent Angel's Wings and "preach" to the temporarily unhappy poster.

That just makes a volatile situation even worse and certainly doesn't help matters.
