I was just told by a friend that they have been having virus issues. Trying to find a news report on it but nothing yet.

Messenger has been messed up for weeks- won't log you in or logs on and boots you. I've been told to download a new (or older) version of Y IM but the download seems messed up too.

Joe, I did find an article talking about virus problems with Yahoo IM. I am deleting it as I don't use it anymore. I use their e-mail.
Mine came up also.
Hey, I will ask here...I installed Microsoft Silverlight. Do I really need this on my home computer? Does it make anything faster or better? I am reading the site now and not sure I really need it and it takes up a lot of space.
Here's a recent article about it.
eta: be sure to read the comments below the article.
Is Silverlight A Dead End?

LOL Now I am all confused! After reading that and another thing I found, I guess I should keep it for the video but it seems that it includes things that I don't use. I don't do major things on my computer at home. Just the normal stuff. (Going to websites, watching video (Not porn!), chatting, etc)
Oh, also in my "add/remove" it says that I rarely use it. So I wonder if Adobe Flash is being used more on my computer. Sorry if I sound dumb about this but...I guess I am!!
Just go here if you're not sure if a site is down: http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/
I became confused after reading the comments as well. Every comment basically said that the write of the article didn't know what he was talking about. Ah..the Internet.
Yeah, that's what confused me. It seems it is used more for business and there is a lot of talk about mobile applications (Which I have no interest in). As much video as I watch I would suspect that it would show the last date I used it. I am thinking of just uninstalling it. I thought it would enhance video for me.

Did that but it said Yahoo was up and running even though for some of us it was down. The outage might have been releated to whatever isp you are using.

Remove it and see if then over a period of time you even notice if it's missing. You can always reinstall it. (I've never installed it. Didnlt even know about it until you brought it up. I haven't seen a need for it.)
I uninstalled it. I am so not up on a lot of this!
