I'm not sure how long this will stay up on youtube. This was talked about earlier this week on the news but no one could authentic it.

Sensata Workers Respond to Leaked Video On Bain/Romney Business Model

It looks like those people in that second video are on a set of some kind. And they're not really "proving" that's Romney in the video, either. And I guess I'm not sure where the "slave labor" thing comes in. He talks about them working a lot of hours and living in cramped quarters yes, but really gives no specifics. He also says that they left to go home and some had earned enough money that they didn't need to come back to work for them.
So I guess I'm not seeing what the point of this video really is...

Several things stood out for me. "The number of hours they worked" "The pittance they were paid." "12 girls per room with each bunk bed 3 high."
Factory barbed wire and guards. The girls get to go home for Chinese New Year.
He says the barbed wire is to keep people out that want to work. If you only get to leave for Chinese New Year I can see why some don't come back.

Republican responses -
"The number of hours they worked" - He never said how many hours they worked.
"The pittance they were paid." - Mitt makes a lot of money, so the fair wage they were being paid is extremely low to someone who makes as much as he does.
"12 girls per room with each bunk bed 3 high." - These rooms are enormous and the free housing helped to cut down on the girls cost of living so they were able to save a lot of money and leave the factory in short amount of time, as he said they do when they go home for New Years.
"Factory barbed wire and guards." As he said in the video, the jobs here are so great and in such high demand for their high pay and great working conditions they need to make sure people don't sneak in and try to steal work from employees.
"The girls get to go home for Chinese New Year." - Do you not go home for Christmas or Thanksgiving? This is the same thing and it's insulting to insinuate otherwise.

Sounds like working on a cruise ship.

Posted: 8/26/12 at 7:35pmThe thing is, this is the business model of the country that Bain is outsourcing it's manufacturing jobs to. His discription of the need for the fence etc sounds to me of Chinese Factory Owners Spin on justifying it horriblr working conditions.

If it is real I think they will try to spin it anyway they can. And the Dems will spin it as showing jobs going overseas.
I truly dread thisi election.

Oh, absolutely. But the spin is going to be that these jobs are so great that they need to keep the crazy people out and it's all for protecting the workers.
I don't see anything in that video that's really all that damaging (unfortunately)

Posted: 8/26/12 at 8:35pmThe first video had been pulled so I didn't get to see it. The second video is essentially irrelevant just because their situation is hardly unique. Companies have been off-shoring jobs from the US to lower cost countries for decades. I've never heard slavery charges involving China but there are some South American countries that have slavery. India has child labor issues. Even a Toyota subsidiary in Japan had foreign workers claiming they were enslaved because of the way the company tied up their wages. It wouldn't be surprising at all if Bain off-shored some companies. The Federal tax structure gives incentives for US companies to go overseas!

Digital Journal has a transcript with related links.
There's no indication of any slavery claims or charges within the material itself. It seems to be getting added on by others posting the video.
It's all such a joke. People were falling all over Steve Jobs for being a genius while not a single Apple product was made in the US and Foxconn workers were leaping to their deaths and the US trade deficit hit record highs. Meanwhile the UAW was getting slapped down and labelled redneck for promoting "Buy American."
can't have your cake and eat it too, folks
