He was fired and hasn't been seen since. It seems it's OK with some of you for Washington to use offensive words but it's not OK for Imus to do the same.

Again, I just don't know what you want. If Imus finds work elsewhere, will you be okay with Washington getting work?

Didn't Mr Washington get into trouble because he said this in public? The first time it was "private" but then he said it again after he apologized and he has recently tried to blame the gay person for the situation. It really shouldn't matter where it was said for either of them. The fact is that they said what they said, and the public knows about it. Imus apologized again and again and was fired. Al Sharpton has threatened future Imus employers with boycotts, demonstrations, etc. It just doesn't seem right to me. I don't believe it's OK for either to do what they did but they should be treated the same.

actually, washington did make the faggot remark on the air - at the emmys - months after it originally happened and he had time to reflect on it and saw the response to using the word. and yet he chose to say it again, live, on national television.

We saw what Al Sharpton with Tawana Brawley fantasy and the so-called rape at Duke. Why anyone listens to him at all is a mystery. He is like Nancy Grace. Neither of them deals with the facts.

Wasn't he responding to someone's question? He probably shouldn't have used the word there either, but it's totally not the same context. Right or wrong, he wasn't calling anyone a faggot during the interview session at the Golden Globes.
The big scary black man lost his well paying job on one of the top rated shows on television. I don't understand what more people want out of it, unless they really do wish he would never work again. If that's the case, I really wish that someone would come out and say it.
Jimny, it seems like you're really pissed off about is the fact that there's not a gay equivalent of Al Sharpton in this.
