Israel-Hamas Long-Term Truce Signed!

The BBC just reported that Hamas has agreed to the Egyptian-brokered long-term ceasefire.

I've put an exclamation point and a question mark in the subject line because the article says the Israelis have not yet confirmed this, although he Egyptians and Israelis had pretty much been in agreement all along.

But who knows? When it's confirmed all around, I'll make it an exclamation point.

I do, PalJoey. If they are using religion to violently attack and/or abuse innocent civilians then yes. I do. In my opinion, however, Israelis are not religious zealots as a whole and their continued attacks are unfairly provoked; they are defending themselves and have every right to do so.

The very basis of Islamic Jihad is violence and oppression in the name of religion; Judaism is not. Any extremist distorting Judaism to slaughter innocent human beings should be punished just as any Islamic terrorist would be, though. There are violent extremists in every single religion - including Christianity and Catholicism. But most religions are not founded on the principles of rape, murder, oppression, and torture against "infidels." Except for, of course, Islamic Jihad.

Who among us is comfortable with the idea that the abscessory gets to decide who is an extremist who should be put to death?
