I went to the doctor today because I have not been feeling "normal" for about a year and I got tired of it. I would cry for no reason, sleep all the time, feel like I will never be happy, etc. Well, I was officially diagnosed with depression and started Welbutron (sp?) today, so hopefully I will get back to feeling like my old self again pretty soon.
So, now that I am officially diagnosed with depression . . . I am a real artist now?
of course! Welcome to the club lol
and congrats?
good luck w/ the welbutron
never worked for me, though it was one of 5 types of drugs that didn't work.
THat's what ya get fopr being Depressed, Bi-Polar, OCD AND have Post Traumatic stress whatever its called

Sweet!
Congrats!
Yes, you are now officially a true artist
wellbutrin works for me, hopefully it will help you.
I have a big case of it.
Maybe the neurologist will start to unravel my puzzle which would go a long way to relieving mine tomorrow
hope it works for you.
i've been in and out of therapy since i was about 7 or 8... i'm kind of screwed up.
i was on welbutrin once. i dont remember anything bad happening with it. i've had allergic reactions to other drugs but not that one.

don't feel weird...I have too.
I went on Zoloft in my 30's for a year or two - I finally felt normal, for the first time in memory. Congratulations - even if the Wellbutrin doesn't work perfectly, they'll find something that will, and you won't believe the difference.
I think it would be easier if you just came out of the closet!
Just kidding. I hope it works for you!
Hey Sueleen..leave my "straight" boyfriend alone.....you'll be fine honey..you know I'm always here for you.

Good luck. Welbutrin made me more depressed and very angry. I had to be rushed by ambulance. Sigh. I've tried like 7 so far and nothing has really worked. Now THATS depressing. I'm beginning to lose hope!

Are you my long long twin?
No, really. I'm serious. That's scary. That's exactly what I've been diagnosed with.
really?

I'm glad this was brought up. My friends are all very happy people. I had a very bad relationship and thats when the depression started, and I was dealing with my mom battling cancer. I don't feel that I can talk about it with my friends because I feel embarrased. It's cool to know I'm not the only one out there..even though the cheesy commercials tell me that everyday.
Aw. Group Hug!
Do not look at the Hairspray pictures on the main board. It will mess you up. Big Time!

Somewhere Tom Cruise is bleeding from every orifice on his body…but that’s a different story.

Spider, you saw your PCP once and you received a prescription? Did your doctor recommend a therapist? If you have problems, a pill alone is not going to make you happy! I wish you the best!
therapy may be helpful if you feel it is necessary but only a drug can correct the chemical imbalance in your brain if you have been diagnosed with clinical depression.
Good point, lwyr. I missed that little detail. Spider, you went to your Doctor today and on that one visit alone he prescribed anti-depressants? If that is true, which I find very unlikely, I would switch Doctor's immediately and get a second opinion. It's nothing to mess around with.

welbutrin is scarey stuff.
When i was first diagnosed that's what they put me on and it made me completely emotionally numb, as in I felt NOTHING, literally. I said "**** this" and stopped taking it cause feeling like **** is better than not feeling.

An old roommate of mine went into his MD one day complaining of fatigue and walked out with a a prescription for two different anti-depressants. Now he's skittish and pill-dependent when he was formerly just whiny.
I took Wellbutrin to quit smoking a few years back and I had to go off it, because it made me want to commit suicide.
