You sound absolutely stunning Dancin! I LOVED everything; you sound so much older than you are!
You probably already know this but...
I'd just be really REALLY careful about singing "Glitter and be Gay". You can obviously hit all the notes, that's not a problem, but young sopranos are often the most fragile voices. That song is just SO taxing on the voice; it's made for a singer whose voice has completely matured. While you sound older than you are, the voice isn't going to completely mature for another 10 years or more. I just wouldn't want you to damage anything; I'm sure you're going to be a big star.

Thanks to both of you
Sandwich- Cupcakes are my fave..you are more than welcome to buy me a pack
Blair- Thank you for your concern. I do know this, however. That song was definitely a one time thing...at least for a little while. Luckily it didn't strain or make my voice feel uncomfortable in the least. A general rule I have...to not do anything uncomfortable. Thanks darlin!

Cruel darling, that's not me, it's Kelli O'Hara singing the the title song from The Light in the Piazza! :P
Dancin, that's good to hear. I just didn't want to have a Charlotte Church situation happen. :)

My lands! Thank you all! haha, yes..15 years old represent.
(actually 16 on August 31st...yay!!!)
But the Kiss Me Kate and Spitfire stuff was from when I was 14, and Gimme Gimme was when I was 13, so my belt was a little shakey, that's why it was transposed down a step. Ah well

Thanks, Sammich!
This is my friend singing. It's not a song, it's something he sang at the end of Lend Me a Tenor (when he was in it.) It's the only clip I have of him singing alone, so enjoy it!

heh. that would indeed be cool.
i dunno if i'll do it though. i feel extremely weird if there's even one person in the house and i'm singing. i'm ridiculously self-conscious. this is particularly why i tend to stick to straight plays and short films, acting-wise.

Posted: 7/24/06 at 2:22ami dunno. i guess i've always been fascinated by the differences between a person's singing voice and a person's speaking voice. if they are really really really good, it is as if they can shed all identifiable traits to other human beings (speaking voice) and become something else entirely; something entirely beyond our earthly bounds and completely unique (singing voice). and i can't really deal with that, in regards to other people hearing me sing. to this day, my parents and most family members and friends still have not heard me.

No no, I didn't mean his singing was low and flat! I meant that essentially, when you speak, it's just like singing...except lower and flat
I'm not really a fan of critiquing other people. Uhm...in some places it sounded like there was a little forced vibrato for effect (I could be completely wrong). Just let it happen; vibrato is a naturally occuring pitch correcter in your voice, although you can change how it sounds...like...the speed of it and everything. Watch your vowel shapes, sliding up to notes, and pitch.
You really do have a lovely, pleasant voice, dearheart. I wouldn't look for critiquing. They're really just opinions. <3

Posted: 7/24/06 at 2:27ammy only critique for you, gav, is that there is this weird sound that crackles in and out throughout and made me think that it was still thundering and lightening outside and thus, a possibility of the power going out was still on the table.
