JACKSON JURY REACHES VERDICT

They will come in in about an hour. Of course, they are interrupting regularly scheduled program to tell us that and give us every detail. Even though they have no verdict to actually report.

re: JACKSON JURY REACHES VERDICT

They had to spend 7 or so minutes giving us old, rehashed info, for no good reason. They couldn't have waited to interrupt Oprah?!

Breathe, Rath, breathe. There's always Soapnet, if necessary. Well, for you, not me.

re: JACKSON JURY REACHES VERDICT

should we take bets now as to whether or not he delays the trial with an emergency room visit? again.

re: JACKSON JURY REACHES VERDICT

Any bets on "Guilty"/"Not Guilty"? (I mean the verdict, not your own opinion.)

I say "Not Guilty", and Jacko will get off. So to speak.

re: JACKSON JURY REACHES VERDICT

I would be shocked if he was found guilty, because the ones I believe should be convicted never are.

And bdwaygirl, FAST FORWRRD THROUGH THE ABC PROMOS that come about 45 minutes in. I'm so sorry I'm watching in real time...something incredibly exciting and shocking is gonna happen, and at least you can be surprised even though it's COMPLETELY ruined for me. *sigh*

re: JACKSON JURY REACHES VERDICT

I'm gonna say this again now before the verdict is made. None of us KNOW if he is guilty or not--only what we can assess from what little we know. And based on what little we know, I think he is innocent.

All I know is--I hope the verdict does indeed reflect the TRUTH.

There's always 3 sides to every story.
You'll likely never know the truth. I think he gets convicted on lesser charges, but not the big ones.

re: JACKSON JURY REACHES VERDICT

You are right JRB - guilty is a legal status not necessarily truth. But what is truth, is truth unchanging laws, we both have truths, aren't yours the same of ours?(sorry I digressed into Superstar!)

re: JACKSON JURY REACHES VERDICT

You're absolutely right, JRB. I think there are many loopholes in the prosecution's case. I'm surprised it even went to trial.

As for if he was found guilty, would he be properly punished--I actually think something will happen to him before he's sentenced, or sent to do his time. I really think he'll commit suicide or have some sort of fatal attack. I can't see him going to jail in the literal sense of the term, or lasting more than a day.

Regardless, he's still going to move to France, right? Please!

Beav - you could be correct on both thoughts.

France can have him and Jerry Lewis. (stupid joke, I know)

re: JACKSON JURY REACHES VERDICT

Auntie Beav, what makes you say you think he actually is a child molester? I'm just curious. I'm on the fence - I think the prosecution really botched this case (and I do think this family is scamming Jacko), but I also wonder if he did molest children before. I think the most damning evidence was when one of the witnesses, either in this trial or the last one, could identify characteristics on Jacko's penis.

re: JACKSON JURY REACHES VERDICT

I don't know if he is a molester or not. I'd like it to be proven that he is, and I don't believe that this prosecutor did a good job of that. However, I was not in the courtroom - perhaps he did prove it to that jury.

*Ha! I answered Tiff's question to Beav because I saw "Auntie" and just assumed she was speaking to me. re: JACKSON JURY REACHES VERDICT

re: JACKSON JURY REACHES VERDICT

I'm betting that he'll be let off. Everything I've heard about the trial (and granted, I've tried to ignore it) sounds to me like the prosecution is screwing up. They relied too much on the mother's testimony, which the defense tore to pieces... We shall see.

re: JACKSON JURY REACHES VERDICT

When I was 13, and we would all go swimming, we would change clothes in the men's dressing room. I saw many a man's penis--not even trying to look.

Most people don't think twice about men and boys changing in the same room. Especially not in the early 90s when the boy who drew that picture allegedly saw MJJ's willy.

The CourtTV re-enactions sure make it hard to figure out what the dynamic was in the courtroom.

re: JACKSON JURY REACHES VERDICT

JRB, the thing that makes me think that maybe he's innocent is exactly that--I also think that Michael has a very child-like state of mind. He's demonstrated a carefree abandon and a clear Peter Pan complex. I wonder if this lack of inhibition also included him being in situations like what you described, where both parties could have been nude without any sexual connotations, and it was only when the lawsuit came about that he figured he should backpedal and not admit to any sort of nudity whatsoever.
