Ok, off to meetings. Say good-bye to my old computer. When I return to my desk there will be a new one for me!
(And if for some reason my new one mis-behaves and doesn't let me back on to BWW... it was nice knowing you all! LOL!)

no hangings on my b-day, please...
connect your paper with theatre... Arthur Miller's The Crucible, perhaps....

*unhangs self just for cookie*
cookie- you're actually the second person who suggested that to me! I've been trying to veer away from JUST McCarthyism, and just talk about Censorship as a whole. Then I could most certainly talk about The Crucible!
Thanks babe.
how are you, big bro?

Trivia for Addy...
Patrick Wilson is a Cancerian and his birthday is not on that "bad" day...it's 7/3.... Actually 7/3/73...probably means something cosmic to have those number combos...
and he's still young enough to be "trainable." LOL!

Hey, Jwei, you need to listen to my SBL and add the Crucible into the mix.
IF you're feeling really masochistic, present the other side and show Ann Coulter's sick, perverted McCarthy worship (she actually visits his grave and lays flowers on it on his birthday...or at least, she professes to. I imagine she'd really only walk into a graveyard if it was of the mass variety and filled with liberals and Muslims so she could dance on top of it).

Good morning Jack Hoffs and Beacon1.
C - how is your day?
#4148Jacking parties
Posted: 4/25/05 at 11:17amBut of course, use the Crucible as a backdrop, and discuss McCarthy and his attempts to purge the arts community, highlighting Elia Kazan and how he did name names, the consequences of that, and Arthur Miller, who didn't name names. That way, you can also tie in the aspect of the Salem Witch Trials (or even reference the Inquisition, if you want to go global about it), as the prelude and precursor to McCarthy's Committee of Un-American Activities...
