Well yeah Jane, you come off as positive. 'Cause you're honest and stuff. Honesty=absence of fear.
I can relate to cynicism and negativity. I hate everything today. I gotta go shopping for clothes, which I never do because shopping is BORING. But I got some stuff coming up, and I need new clothes, and we all know what Thoreau (the author, not the scary poster who hasn't been around this board in a while) thought about that.
Sorry to hijack, there. Anyhoo, this thread is awesome.

I really dig this thread – it’s positively civilized and quite endearing. Thanks for starting it, brdlwyr. First, a question for you, brdlwyr. Was this thread motivated by any event, in particular, or just general goodwill towards Jane2? By the way, if the brd stands for bored, I am one, too...

Stockard fan-that's a good question. I've had gazillions of jobs-let me think of the worst. Well, there are actually two.
I'll never forget when I was hired as a counselor in a sleepaway camp. One day, during cleanup, when the girls were sweeping the floor, a used kotex appeared. Of course, the girls were all screaming and carrying on. I simply threw it out.
Next thing I know, I'm called down to the head counselor's office and fired. Why? Because they said I placed a used sanitary napkin on the floor of the bunk. I couldn't believe the injustice. They were wrong, and there was nothing I could do about it. I'll never forget that long bus ride home, feeling the anger of being falsely accused of something. This isn't nearly as bad as those who are falsely accused and/or imprisoned for a crime, but I got the idea of how frustrating it could be.
As for a real job that sucked, I'd have to say server (or caterwaiter). First of all, I couldn't hold the tray steady in one hand, and napkins in the other. So, I had to put the napkins on the tray, and try to steer through the crowd holding onto the tray with two hands. I crashed into several people's backs and had to apologize, making the caterers look bad. I also made faces when someone took too many hors d'oevres off the tray.
Then, the lady who was boss caught me eating a leftover SH*T on toast on the way back to the kitchen and had a fit. So I put the tray down and quit.

IAMWHATIAM (love your name), we used to have a thread here called the cotd (celebrity of the day), where one of us would answer questions all day long. Those who were appointed on a friday got the whole weekend!
I think we got through all the posters because it went on for quite a long time. Maybe we should start it again! I would be in charge of naming the next person when my day is up.
To answer your question, which is hard because I probably should throw out everything in here, but I won't. Okay, if I have to name one, I'll say an old DVD player that someone gave me years ago. I don't know how to connect it to my tv, and it's taking up room in my closet. I tried to throw it out the other day, but just couldn't.

LOL, Jane! I hated waiting tables as well. And I sucked at it.
As far as the camp counselor job, that is horrible that they thought you did that. I mean, why the hell would you do that anyway?
