FYI... the movie "Chicago" won ZERO awards from the Chicago Film Critics in 2002.

So I wouldn't take this Chicagoan snub for Jennifer Hudson too personally.

It's not Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Chicago is a huge city which has had plenty of performers born and raised in its environs. Why would they vote for Hudson just because she was one of them?

And how much credibility would they have if they did?

Borstal, the same thing happened earlier this year, only it was a guy from the roof of the Eagle, it was after Brokeback Mountain lost, and he was clutching a flannel shirt.

Hey, no one overturned cars after this year's Oscars...I'm sure Jhud could survive it.
I'm more concerned about the possibility of anyone but Raul winning the Tony.

It's still negative spin no matter if it's appropriate terminology or not and indicative of the negative attitudes on this board. A lot, not all of the posters on here seem to rejoice more in failures than they do in successes.

I agree that jh losing the oscar (and gg and sag) will be a huge upset. she doesn't have just frontrunner status, she has frontrunner status on the level jamie foxx did for ray. could foxx have been upset? sure. but it would have been a shock. she has people applauding her from the pacific to the atlantic. it's lightning in a bottle.

i've been a huge oscar buff for years--my money is on jhud.

this is not surprising given chicago's long history as the most homophobic and racist town on the face of the earth. they still have public sponsored lynchings there. anyone who thought they'd give any award of any kind to a big black lesbian like jhud was out of their mind. i myself am starting a boycott of all things chicago to punish them for their celebration of hate and their love of all things klan-ish.
