Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think it helps gay rights for people to still cling to the idea that homosexuality is a SIN in the eyes of God.
These 'folks' who believe it is a sin aren't necessarily "rallying" for gay rights when they refer to the Bible (more specifically a passage from Leviticus...the most insane part of the entire book) in published interviews that contradict the beliefs of many (Christians, Jews, etc.) that homosexuality is, in fact, not a sin nor a disorder.
If 'they' take the approach like it seems Jennifer is taking in this article, I can absolutely understand why a fan of hers who happens to be gay would take offense or even become disheartened. She is (like RobbO's quote) riding the fence to be safe.
But she may have been misquoted, and I find written words over the internet or in news publications NEVER effectively communicate a person's feelings. I prefer to see their face or hear their voice. I can detect bullsh*t in those circumstances. :)

People are always going to have a problem with homosexuality because of the Bible. That's not news. She's not saying she wants to kill them or anything. If she was quoted saying "having sex before marriage is a sin," would everyone who's done that get pissed too?
This is almost as dumb as when Rosie O'Donnell called Kelly Ripped homophobic for covering up Clay's mouth. I mean, c'mon.
Well, since in many states Gays can't marry, I guess it would piss some people off. They would find it as a passive-aggressive way of condemning homosexuality.
I wouldn't, but I don't always read into things...
The woman is surrounded by very astute gay men these days. She is in no way homophobic. She was also part of the lineup for the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian center fundraiser two months ago. No **** is hitting no fan since it is just not true at all.
...actions speak louder than words. (Especially ones over the "interweb".)
MatthewAddison, she also said "Everybody sins." Even her. Even the pope. She's not saying she will never sin and gay people are all dirty and destined for hell. Save the rants for Fred Phelps.
Fred Phelps and RTFan...
Anyhoo, when I met her recently at a function, I said to her, "On behalf of all the fags in America, congratulations and we love you."
She laughed and said, "Well honey, I love all of you too!"
Then she took a picture with me.
She is NOT homophobic.
To whom are you referring -- Hudson or RTfan?
Why would I ever want to take a picture with RTFan?!

Wow - I can't stand faggots sometimes.
I can always lay down for them, but sometimes I can't stand them.
Pray for us, J.Hud (WHO is responsible for THAT?)
well I mean, according to christianity, Gay is a sin, so, had she actually said "gay is a sin' it would be true for someone raised as a christian. But that's not what happened. She never said "gay is a sin" so this thread is ****ing pointless and JHud is a goddess.
ETA
The entire article seems like a desperate attempt to smear Jen. the questions themselves are worded in a way that's clearly gonna make anyone seem "anti-gay." Clearly someone wanted to stir up a little controversey.

THANK you!
I totally saw Beyonce in Dallas dropping a fat suit in the dumpster.
This is all her doing.
See? Beyonce's so evil she made me post twice! Updated On: 12/7/06 at 05:44 AM
I don't think the article even tries to smear her name...
Beyond the title, it says very little anti-gay, if anything at all...
"“I’ve been prepping for it for a long time with [“American] Idol” and even before. I love it. I think the world of the gay community, and I feel like it’s an honor,” she said. “The gay community is the hardest community to please, so if they love me, I must be fierce, honey”."
She hardly sounds like she has an issue with it...
And guys, THIS IS THE KIND OF ATTITUDE WE WANT CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIANS TO HAVE! Stepping stones! They're not going to go from rabid homophobes to Liza in one day!
"This is almost as dumb as when Rosie O'Donnell called Kelly Ripped homophobic for covering up Clay's mouth."
Clay was the one who covered up Kelly's mouth. It's the coment that Kelly made afterwards that seemed homophobic to Rosie.
the article conveniently left out this quote, "the gays killed christ!"

At the ceremony, when I become an ex-gay, I'll be belting the living daylights outta: "And I'm Telling You, I'm Not 'Mo-ing."
Feeble, Namo.

It must be true, Stagemanager, because if anybody knows feeble, it's you.
"What? What do you mean? Are you saying that about me or SonofMammaMia Sam? Because I don't get it. Oh. You meant like 'mo-ing.' Instead of going. Oh! Let me add something on to your puncline: 'You mean you won't be 'mo-ing' except when there's a sexy guy around and nobody's watching! Right, Namo? LOL!'"
What's a lawn, SoMMS?
"Wait, are you asking me or SoMMS what a lawn is? Because I don't get it. A lawn has grass. You must love grass, Namo. Ha ha ha!"
I was thinking a Brazilian, but it's still feeble.
"And I'm Telling You, I'm Not 'Mo-ing."

Thank you, DNYC. It was once postulated that I am Mr. A.
Now back to the bubbly black girl. I agree with the Pet Shop Boys when they sang, "It's a Sin."
Maybe gay is a sin; but, so are:
Lust
Gluttony
Greed
Sloth
Wrath (also known as Rath)
Envy
Pride
You've got to figure that Jennifer is guilty of a few of those.
