After months of reports on this board of people who just knew that Beyonce and Jennifer Hudson had an acrimonious relationship during the filming and promotion of Dreamgirls, I couldn't help but be struck by this quote I read today in the Chicago Sun-Times.
Any regrets about this amazing "Dreamgirls" ride for Hudson? "Only one. I'm still upset by how much the press has made of that so-called -- and totally untrue -- 'feud' between Beyonce and me. I hope that watching us work so well together up there onstage [during the 'Dreamgirls' musical number in the Oscar show] will put all that to rest."
Why would she lie like that? With her strong belief and praise of her God, doesn't she know that bearing false witness is against the ten commandments?
It's sad that Oscar's newest darling is a dirty liar. Shame, Jennifer Hudson, shame.

C'Mon Kringas! How the hell would JENNIFER know what went on behind the scenes of her movie!? Only someone far far away from the set would know how they really felt!
On a related note, I actually came on today to ask whoever it was that posted the INCREDIBLE AMAZING SECRET DREAMGIRLS PERFORMANCE AT THIS OSCARS what happened to the amazing secret performance that only he knew about? Did I miss it? Or was he perhaps full of, as the french would say, le Merde?

Shame, Jennifer Hudson, shame.
Uh oh...
^^ the sarcasm went over his head
yeah i was wondering if i was watching the wrong show because the show i saw had beyonce hugging jennifer as jhud was going up to receive her award.
it also featured a very brilliant performance where each of the women held their own and looked actually pleased to be up on the stage performing together.
i'm still trying to find out when the "other version" aired. you know the one with the bitter beyonce and the cat fight and the evil glares. i have yet to see it.
oh i just remenbered! that version only existed in some people's minds.
my bad!
Also she said a very homophobic remark, although her own sister is gay. That was discussed on Advocate magazine. Im sure her die-hard fans will deny it though, but it did happen. No one made it up. She said something about her and her religion, blah blah. Yes, and she did apologize, just like the Grey's Anatomy guy and the other jerk.

These are Jennifer's own words to the situation Muscle is referencing:
"In a recent interview, I was asked how I reconciled being a Christian with performing at events for my gay fans. I find it upsetting that some folks equate being a Christian with being intolerant of gay people. That may, unfortunately, be true for some, but it is not true for me. I have talked often of my love and support of the gay community. I have said again and again that it was the gay community that supported me long before and long after ‘American Idol,’ and kept me working and motivated.
It is the gay community that celebrated my voice and my size and my personality long before Dreamgirls. Yes, I was raised Baptist. Yes, I was taught that the Bible has certain views on homosexuality. The Bible also teaches us not to judge. It teaches us to love one another as God loves us all. I love my sister, my two best friends and my director dearly. They happen to be gay. So what? While some search for controversy, I hope that my friends and fans who know me, know where I stand."
That absolutely covers everything, in my book.
muscle's just hatin' 'cause Jess hasn't won a Grammy, let alone an Oscar!
Thanks DG I was just about to post that.
Nope, that's not what I read, that was the issue after!
and I do think Jennifer is very talented, just hated to hear that kind of comment from her. I would have thought she'd know better.
She does know better. And I don't know what you have read.. but I can assure you the woman has a heart of gold and loves and adores the gay community. I worked two functions in which she was involved this last summer. One for the Equal rights campaign and he other for gay pride. And by the way.. she worked for free.

Muscle, that was her response to the whole brouhaha.
The actual incident was in a Dallas paper interview, and they asked her about how she reconciled her Christian beliefs with playing to a gay crowd. Her first response was something like, "No one's ever asked me that! (while laughing.) And then, to complete the question - and CONTINUING THE LAUGHTER - she said, "Hey, we're all sinners."
It is only the self-righteous and angrily defensive who have taken that as a homophobic slur. And that's exactly what she addressed in her response. Context counts, whether you or anyone else wants to accept that thought. And if we can't be light and joke about things WITH OUR OWN SUPPORTERS, then we don't deserve the support in the first place.
Here's the thread on which said statement (no pun intended) was discussed/dissected:

Read and learn... or not.
I also forgot she also performed at the Los Angeles gay and Lesbian center in a youth benefit.

Jennifer Hudson was question about her opinion on "black Broadway" a few weeks after DREAMGIRLS opened. Her response was:
"I believe that Broadway will always be there. Black or not. I think the thing with Dreamgirls is that it was both a powerful story and a powerful black struggle. I don't think a white person should be playing Effie. But then I would be interested in seeing how that would affect the dynamic of the show. I really wouldn't care who played Effie - as long as she isn't gay."
Ah, message boards...
Are you serious?
Oh dear. That is the problem with posting sarcastic remarks on the web. DO YOU REALLY THINK HE IS SERIOUS?

Only Carol Channing is dumb enough to say something like that. But she's old...so she's excused for being senile.
No, JHud would never say anything like that!
Haha, I realized that about two seconds after posting.
I'm having such a weird day, I'll believe anything.
I enjoyed her live performance in October as part of the Gay Days event at Disneyland. www.gayday2.com
She only did a few songs at the Downtown Disney House of Blues in Anaheim but she was AMAZING.
Did she sing songs from Dreamgirls at the time?
