Posted: 7/29/05 at 7:13pmI had an interesting PM today that stated that Jesus was the Messiah. According to my faith of Judaism, we are still waiting for the Messiah. If the Messiah was truly here, would we still have poverty, illness, crime, abuse and that sort of thing? I really find it disrespectful to be " preached " that Jesus is the only way. How do others feel?

I heard Idina was the Messiah. Then I heard it was Norbert Leo Butz.
But I know it's really Bruce Vilanch.

Posted: 7/29/05 at 7:37pmWell, some Jews believe the Messiah has come in the form of one Hasidic rebbe or another, but if you believe Jesus was the Messiah, you're not Jewish anymore. It's called Christianity, and Jews for Jesus is one of the dumbest ideas I've ever heard of.

Posted: 7/29/05 at 7:44pmWhy are Jews always longing for something? Wouldn't it have been nicer just to accept Jesus? Your rewards aren't here on earth (Christianity isn't about this life), they're in heaven. Christianity isn't for those who wish instant gratification, that's for sure.

jews for jesus!!!!
This means nothing. It's just I was driving around Brooklyn and I saw a van with jews for jesus!!!! on the side of the van.
A few months ago I was on a flight to Europe and there was a group of 20 to 30 Hassidic Jews. There was quite a disruption in the back of the airplane because 10 of the men wanted to stand and pray.

Yup chita,
Jews are supposed to pray three times a day, and it is best if at least 10 men can pray together, so on lots of flights coming or going to Israel, you will often find groups praying in the plane at those times.

ConvinceMe2 hit the nail on the head.
I think I'm gonna stop saying "this is what I believe" because that's not going to change your beliefs.
But yeah, Jesus Christ came as the Messiah, to be a Savior to all who were doomed to hell.
Like ConvinceMe2 said, Christianity is not for here on earth. Those who accept Jesus as the Savior are forgiven, trusting Him in this world and looking foward to heaven where there will be no poverty, illness, crime, abuse, or anything like that!
So either accept Jesus as the Messiah who got nails pierced through his hands and feet for us, or keep waiting...

Posted: 7/29/05 at 8:33pmJews for Jesus is a non-concept to me. It is like Vegetarians for Eating Meat.........contradictory. If people wish to believe in Jesus, that is wonderful, if they are Christian. I do believe that people should respect other's beliefs and faiths.

I live in a church.
I have a direct line to the man upstairs....
He owes me for spending $20,000.00 to get HIS house painted.

I didn't say that flaming wasn't allowed.
Besides, we live in a smoking state, and folks feel they can light up where ever....
