Did anyone watch this show and is anyone excited about season 2 starting tomorrow?
The UK showed the first season earlier this year, one episode Mon-Fri and hurrah for that because I LOVED it. But it will be AGES before we get season 2. Boo hoo.

I f'ing LOVE THIS SHOW. I mentioned on the smoking thread that I only watched the pilot out of curiousity - I had always loved Amber Tamblyn as a child/teenager on General Hospital. Well, needless to say, I was hooked from that first episode.
I was thrilled when Amber received her Best Actress Emmy nomination this year. Wanted to throw it at the stupid daytime folk who never once saw fit to give this fine actress a nod the entire 9 years that General Hospital was graced with her talent and warmth.
Joan of Arcadia has some of the best writing, acting, and directing on TV today. I recommend it highly.

Yea, I liked it. Being shown on Friday night is a death sentence for a series though.
Did y'all know that the father of the girl who plays Joan played Riff in the movie of West Side Story?

Being shown on a Friday night for a show that caused such a sensation in its first season probably won't matter too much.
Rath, I can actually pinpoint the moment I fell in love with the show. Can you?

Being in a Friday night slot hasn't seemed to hurt it at all.
And no, I can't, but if you remind me, I might agree...

Another good point in the show was when God was a little girl when he/she/it exaplined to Joan why he/she/it would not restore her brother's ability to walk.

Posted: 9/23/04 at 12:11pmA lot of the God actors are returning this season, too. As everyone LOVED Little Girl God, I am sure she'll be among them.

So it starts this Friday? Cool.
I'm SOO behind on all CBS shows because my cable got cut off a few months ago and I just decided to not be a cheap bastard and got it turned back on.
I could get all networks BUT CBS with rabbit ears because I live too close to the transmitter.

I love this show. It only bothers me when TOO recognizable actors play God - like when Susan Sullivan - Greg's mom from DHARMA AND GREG, was the "Rich Lady in a Limo" God.
Am I alone in thinking Mary Steenburgen is now more attractive than she was 20 years ago?

Posted: 9/23/04 at 2:10pmAnd can we discuss the episode where Adam took his mother's suicide note to Joan and in the end Joan's mother read it to him? I was weeping like a child.

Posted: 9/23/04 at 2:13pmOr the season finale...I cried like a baby. Actually, this show makes me cry almost every week. And I'm not like that.
#18re: Joan Of Arcadia
Posted: 9/23/04 at 2:16pmThere was another point that I cried watching the show (and getting tears out of me ain't easy) but I can't for the life of me remember what it was. I don't think it was the season finale though.

Posted: 9/23/04 at 2:20pmThat moment where she "realized" it wasn't God talking to her, but her Lyme disease - that didn't break your heart into a million pieces??

She was at our Emmy's after-party.

Posted: 9/23/04 at 2:21pmThe whole season finale just freaked me out, those scary ass twins and so on. I think when Adam didn't believe her I got a little teary eyed, maybe. But there was one other full on boohooathon and I really don't remember what it was!
