I had the distinct pleasure of meeting and visiting with Ms. Foster at an event here in LA, and I have rarely been as stricken by anyone's strength, intelligence, power and absolute beauty as I was by hers. Truly jaw-dropping, on every level.
Of course, we all know the 'talk' - but does it strike anyone else that, in this poster, she is giving up all pretense?

Honestly, Taz, she was beyond mesmerizing in person. Without flaw. I've maybe had the priveledge of meeting 10 other humans that were THAT much on top of EVERY aspect of their game.
If I was a woman that liked women . . .

She did a press junket at the hotel I worked at whe I was at NYU. I didn't "meet" her in that we had a conversation, but she was very gracious and considerate of the staff.
Most of the talent at those junkets are not so aware of the people who make it all happen.

And isn't she GORGEOUS?!? I wasn't prepared for that. And WHAT a body!
I'm NOT into women, I'm NOT into women, I'm NOT . . .

"She would make a cute guy anyway."
Some would say she already does
That poster sure wouldn't change their minds!
I saw her in a simple couture dress, and she was the epitome of femininity. Well, the type of femininity that is COMPLETELY in charge.
I likey!

Jim - first of all, Ewwww . . .
BUT, I was about 20 feet away from It when It was shot. I was in college in DC, and we had gone over to raise a little noise around him - he was THAT hated already! When the shots rang out, we were cheering.
Probably a good thing it all got lost in the shuffle. Knowing how this ilk responds to things it doesn't like, I'd probably STILL be in prison!

Who is this "Reagan"? Was he a friend of Jodie's?

I think I see what you're getting at, but it's early and I'm on a caffeine sabbatical so I think I need you to spell it out. Because if we're thinking the same thing I don't think I agree she is giving up all pretense.

You dirty dawg, papa.
I don't think she's giving up pretense in the poster. I do think the marketers are aiming to pull in the entire L-Word audience and then some.
Also, if you can find the Esquire piece she wrote about the whole Hinkley nightmare and her time at Yale online, it's worth the time to invest reading it. It really gives you some insight into how she ended up the way she is about "privacy."
After I read it, I gave her a pass.

I remember that Esquire, and agree.
Kringas - 'giving up all pretense' isn't quite right - maybe 'not shying away from the concept' is more to the point. It just seems she doesn't mind putting herself out there in a way that would certainly bring things to mind.
And I can't imagine that she wouldn't have her hands all over whatever goes on concerning her.

Well, pound for pound I think she looked more butch in the second half of The Accused.

She's become quite mannered. All that stiff-jawed, talking through her teeth, don't mess with me stuff, can wear thin.
There is no levity and little warmth.
I would love for her to tackle a quirky funny romance or something way out of left field like a Velma Von Tussle.
Something that would show she has blood, as opposed to technique, flowing in her veins.

I don't think acting is where her heart is - she seems much more interested in producing.
But those acting gigs can finance quite a bit!

Posted: 8/17/07 at 10:53amI saw the trailer and it didn't look like something I would be interested in. Jodie did look fantastic, though. As far as 'the talk,' I have a lot of respect for her. People don't think about what she went through and why she wants to stay private. In a new interview she said something like, "In 20 years, I will be 65 and Britney Spears will be 45. Then people will understand why my privacy is so important to me." (Paraphrashing, of course)

I've always felt that she was the one celeb I'd give a pass to about not disussing their private lives. I mean...Sean Hayes didn't have anyone shoot a president for him.
Aw sh*t. Now I sound like Stanley Stanley.
