Posted: 7/12/09 at 11:57pmI just saw this running across the E! Channel so I went to eonline. Apparantly, that's why he's in France (with his new girlfriend- the daughter of the plastic surgeon who did Kate's tummy tuck) to meet with the designer of Ed Hardy Christian A... PAHLEEZE! Why on earth should either Jon or Kate put their names on a children's clothing line since NEITHER of them has any training in this area! I get so sick of so-called celebrities putting out a clothing line when they probably couldn't even tell the names of the fabric! PAHLEEZE! They make plenty of money doing their stupid show and pushing their stupid books. I could go on but my hands would cramp up!

Posted: 7/13/09 at 12:04amYou seem to spend a lot of time discussing them and watching the show. If it bothers you so much why don't you just ignore it? I'm not looking to start a fight or anything - I'm genuinely curious.

This face drives people to buy kids clothes?
WHY!?

Posted: 7/13/09 at 12:17amI said this before in another thread. I like being mad at them! I like hearing negative things about them.! I like critiquing them- that's what makes it fun! I used to watch the show when it first started and it has amazed me to see what fame has done to them. I get mad at most celebrities who put out clothing lines because I know there are really starving artists out there who truly know their craft. What also amazes me is that I really don't have to seek them out, they show up on so many shows that I watch and even blogs that I go to. I used to watch the show to see the kids. Then I kept watching the show when I saw Kate say so many mean things to her husband and I couldn't believe she was doing that in front of the cameras. Then I watched the show to see Jon put Kate in her place. I just can't believe that reality shows are the only option for families like theirs. I guess I like watching train wrecks and I'm not afraid to admit that or own up to it. This is a discussion board and personally, I believe that not all discussions have to be positive- especially when it comes to Jon and Kate! Thanks for asking!

He seems like a d-bag. She seems like a b*tch. I'm a little bit surprised DCFS hasn't gotten involved yet but hey, it's not technically my business. lol I feel so shallow continuing to talk about them but for some reason I can't help but be curious whenever I hear yet another bit of strange news about them.

I think Jon's regressing...growing more immature as he gets older...or maybe just living the life now that he was denied in his early 20's when science gave him eight children.
I used to have a vague amount of sympathy for him but it's quickly evaporating.
My daughter went through an Ed Hardy phase...sneaker-wise...when she was about 13. Never got them and now can't stand the sight of the stuff.

Posted: 7/13/09 at 8:52amWell...having 8 kids he has seen a lot of children's clothes...though probably not as much as you would think because they have ALWAYS dressed all the kids the same according to their sex.

Posted: 7/13/09 at 9:26amMTVMANN- you know the Gosselin's get free clothes from Gymboree. I know it's probably easier to dress them alike but come on- they are over 5 and should be allowed to dress for their own personality. Ed Hardy clothes are expensive (and too mature looking)and it doesn't seem like families with multiple kids would want to buy those clothes. Most Americans don't like to spend gobs of money on kids clothes since they grow out of them so fast. Like I said, the Gosselins biggest mistake is to turn their family into a business- and yet Jon says he does not exploit his kids!

Posted: 7/13/09 at 9:29amI watch their show a lot and the only ones I can tell apart are the older girls and the boy with the glasses...who was VERY young to start wearing glasses.

:raises hand:
I am right there with you- normally not a fan of 'reality' shows, but can not stop watching J&K for the mocking. One of my first episodes was the one where the kids go to the Crayola factory, but aren't allowed to do art projects so that they don't get their clothes all messy- how can you not get sucked in to a dynamic like that?

lol is that like saying "I think this is the episode of Three's Company where there's some kind of misunderstanding?" Hee. Which is the one where they're on the couch doing the interviews and she yells at him for breathing too loudly, though? That one was awesome.

Posted: 7/13/09 at 9:55amI think this clothing line will be wildly successful, if and only if they choose James Barbour as their spokesman.

Posted: 7/13/09 at 9:57amYeah- I loved it when she went on that rant about him breathing so hard! I also loved it when she went on about him interrupting her (which she always does to him). On the crayon episode, she was yelling at him across the place. I loved it when she was yelling at him across a store and he finally said something to her outside by their van. Oh- the memories! Even Hoda and Kathie Lee just showed the picture of Jon holding hands with his new girlfriend. Like I said, I didn't even have to seek it out. They said that he thinks he's a celebrity now but he's pathetic!

Posted: 7/13/09 at 10:48amso speaking of the kid with glasses... how does someone so young know they need glasses or how does a parent know a child needs glasses at that young of an age? it always intrigues me... like in the movie JERRY MAGUIRE... that kid looked young to be in glasses... how do you know?
#19re: Jon Gosselin to launch children's clothing line with Ed Hardy designer
Posted: 7/13/09 at 10:57amI think they can tell if someone that young needs glasses is by the shape of their eye. (or something like that) I'm sure he was being followed closely due to his premature birth status.

You've never worked at Gymboree.
how does someone so young know they need glasses or how does a parent know a child needs glasses at that young of an age?
Well, with my sister my mom noticed she was crossing her eyes a lot. And it turned out she was doing it because she couldn't see clearly. She wore glasses for years and now doesn't need them.
Most vision problems in children aren't discovered until they start attending school. They'll have trouble seeing the blackboard and such.

Posted: 7/13/09 at 12:23pmHa! Yes, Gymboree can be very expensive but they have great sales and the clothes last longer because of the grow cuffs. Also, their clothes don't fade. I just couldn't have imagined dressing my kids in Ed Hardy clothes when they were 5. My daughter is 14 and thinks the clothes are ugly and over-priced!

I worked at Gymboree for three years while in college and, boy, could people spend money at that store. I once had a $900 sale. Yes, $900 worth of baby clothes in sizes 0-3 and 3-6. I doubt the kid wore the stuff for very long if at all. People give a lot of clothes as gifts...no need to buy $900 yourself.
Also, a lot of people would come in every time a new line was introduced. These kids had more clothes than me.

supportivemom, I totally understand where you're coming from regarding J&K. I loathe them both, and I have yet to see an entire episode of there show.
What the hell is Jon doing in France anyway? Yo, buddy, you have 8 kids. I can't get a date, but this schmuck with 8 kids has a new girlfriend. I just don't get it.

Well, John has Phillies season tickets (probably Sixers, Flyers, and Eagles too), a highly rated television show, a crapload of money with the possibility of more on the way, an apartment in a Trump building, and a gaggle of adorable kids.
Do you have any of these things?
