I loved it even more this time and had to post about it again.
If you haven't seen it yet, what are you waiting for?! This time, I decided to pay more attention to the story as opposed to the stunning visuals and I found that the story was Pixar's most ingenious and clever. Part cautionary tale, part old school almost silent comedy, and part incredibly involving love story, it's just a brilliant, brilliant masterpiece and the best film of the year so far, by far. The most interesting thing about WALL-E though, is that it's such a gamble. It could have been such a boring, dark, meandering movie but instead it's perfectly paced, exciting to watch, and probably more an adult-aimed movie than a kids movie. Kids might be bored at WALL-E but adults surely won't. Go see it and if you've seen it already, go see it again. It's a phenomenal, beautiful, moving movie and the best yet from the Disney/Pixar cannon. I just love, love, love this movie.
I seeing it for the 2nd time on Thursday. I really thought it was a wonderful movie. All of my friends (who are in their late teens early 20's) loved it also.

Ah, well, WLWU, the fact that you and your freinds are all in your "late teens early twenties" does not necessarily mean you are the arbiters of good filmmaking and discerning taste.
In my mid-40's opinion, it was okay. I liked "Ratatouille" more.
Saw it today. I thought the animation quality was astounding but the film was a little too long and the characters not as well developed as in other Pixar product. I consider myself an environmentalist, and still found the preachiness a little tiresome.

I'm sorry but I find that mildly insulting. I'm not saying that it's the best movie ever made, but I thought it was enjoyable. And my friends and I may be young, but we are not a bunch of idiot shrills who find just anything entertaining.

I thought the movie was wonderful. Not my favorite Pixar movie but it was filled with a good plot and of course astounding animation and effects.

I saw it today and liked it a lot, more than I thought I would. After reading all the posts on this board I was expecting the beginning to be very artsy and spectacular with the second half being jarringly cartoonish. I was pleasantly surprised that the movie flowed very well, didn't seem to be pushing the environmentalist issue more than the plot naturally called for, was endearing, funny, and looked fantastic. Not that it was perfect but the negatives seem miniscule in relation to the positives.
I liked it a lot better than Ratatouille, and I'd say it's my favorite of the newer Pixar movies.
Are animated films eligible for Best Picture Oscars anymore, or did that change when they added the Best Animated Feature Film category?
If its eligible, might this be the second animated film (after Beauty and the Beast) to get a Best Picture nomination? The reviews are pretty astounding (the best reviewed film of the year so far).
In my mid-40's opinion, it was okay. I liked "Ratatouille" more.
Unnecessary much?
Anyways, I thought Wall-E was superior to Ratatouille which I felt - while technically thrilling, aesthetically impressive, and entertaining - had a distinctive lack of momentum and only one interesting relationship (Remy and Linguini).
My comments were SUPPOSED to be insulting. I'm amazed you picked up on it, even though you didn't seem sure of my intent.
Your immediate backpedaling from the open-mouthed french kiss you gave the flick in your original post amuses me. Not really a person of strong conviction, are you?
Haha, well obviously you know me so well from reading one post.

I agree about the short film. Very cute. Pixar always does great things with their short films.

I'd reply, but as a 16-year old I shouldn't probably think amy of my thoughts too seriously. After all, how much can I know?
My favorite film of Pixar is Monsters Inc. Wall-E is a close second. I rank Ratatouille somewhere in the middle, I thought it really needed movement, all it did was make me hungry.
