Rick Santorum's wife Karen has long been an ardent ally of her husband's political career. She's given birth to seven children and home schooled the lot of them so he could go off and do his politicking. She's written about how important it is to be pro life, even in the case of rape and incest. But did you know that for most of her twenties, her live-in boyfriend was an abortion provider? And that he had helped deliver her when she was born? Who knew that it would be Rick Santorum, of all the political candidates, whose life's arc most resembled that of a Latin American telenovela?....

Karen Santorum's personal life shouldn't matter, except she's decided that it matters; she's injected her personal life into her husband's political life and her husband has taken it and ran. When the personal becomes political, the political becomes personal, and you can't be both in public and off limits.

Her and her husband also thinks NO WOMAN SHOULD GET AN ABORTION,EVEN IF THE MOTHER'S LIFE IS IN DANGER.Of course, when Karen Santorum's life was in danger she got an abortion,but the rules don't apply to her.

How this guy thinks the American people would want him and his wife as President and first lady shows how crazy they are.

She had a pregnancy where her life was indeed in danger due to an infection being caused by the fetus, sometime in the mid 90s. At the 20th week it reached the point where she gave birth to fetus. The subject of inducing labor in order to save her life was brought up, but I have read two versions of what happened next, one where they did induce labor, and another where she went into labor naturally. At any rate the child was delivered and I believe lived for a couple of hours. If they did indeed induce labor it would be viewed as an abortion, since 20 weeks is not considered to be too early for a fetus to live if delivered. If her body did go into labor naturally, which is entirely plausible, it would be considered a miscarriage.
