I'm under the firm belief that had THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF MISS JANE PITTMAN been released in theaters instead of as a TV miniseries, it would've guaranteed Cicely Tyson the Oscar. She was billiant in that.

So she will win LEADING ACTRESS for "The Reader" which is what everyone wanted in the first place...right?

I'm one of the few who preferred her (slightly, but confidently) in Revolutionary Road

The fact is, Kate Winslet did get a well deserved nomination in a wonderful film. Personally, I'm really pleased the director and the film were recognized as well. "The Reader" is really strong film making.

Really? What makes you say that? What do you think should have been short-listed instead? Clearly, "The Dark Knight," but, any other choices?

I said clearly because of his photo.

I liked "The Dark Knight," but, I don't think it was one of the best pictures of the year. It's a strong film, probably the strongest comic book film ever, but, not one of my choices for Best Picture.

Broadway86, don't take offense to my last statement, I mean no disrespect to you or your opinion; just wondering why you don't think "The Reader" is one of the best pics of 2008.
