Got my tickets tonight! Incredible seats. 3rd balcony-ish.
I'm so excited! Me and my 10 dollar tickets
.
I was so shocked they were so cheap!
Why the hell hasn't some gay promoter put Kathy Griffin together on tour with Margaret Cho? I know that they both can draw a big crowd individually, so could you imagine how well THAT show would sell if they would appear TOGETHER?!?!?!

Excuse me--I'm in Texas. I don't think there are enough gay people to fill up all the seats in the Meyerson Symphony Hall
I'm in Texas too! We could have it at the Astrodome! I think you'd be surprised - nothing brings out the fags like two of their favorite hags!!!

Here--give me a call tomorrow so we can plan this out and we'll pitch the idea to them first thing Monday morning.
I'm all over it!!!

Because...she's fabulous?
She just makes me laugh - alot. There's something about the "fish out of water" angle she plays up that makes her very accessable. And when she's telling her stories, her style is so casual, it's like she's just having a conversation with you.
Fabulous isn't much of an explanation, Parks; but I appreciate your explanation MJR, and I see your point. She's sort of a nothing to me, meaning, she doesn't bother me, nor do I find her particularly amusing. My wife hates her! So, I was wondering why she was so appealing to people here. I appreciate your both answering my question without employing the word, "amazing"!

She makes me laugh--and I've found her to be funny since I was in 5th grade (which was only 6 years ago...but whatever).
She just seems like a fun person too--I like her a lot.
You seem a little bit irritable tonight...you need to lighten up a little
.
JohnBoy, I like her because her act is more like a real conversation--she relives the stories and she says and does alot of things we secretly want to say and do--she relishes the awkward and impolite, she loves to skewer the egos and facades of the rich and famous and it's like we as nobodies get a surrogate into a world we'll never know...she's self-deprecating.
"I like having a browlift two or three times a year and afterwards I look WEEKS younger."
She's tacky, catty and does a great deal of charity work for the gays. And anyone who actually WANTS us to be in her audience is okay by me.
And who can resist the Sharon Stone-Itsy Bitsy Spider story?
Oh god she's hilarious. I can't see her in San Fran though
Do I seem irritable? I don't feel irritable. Sorry if my posts come off that way. I'm old. Young people always think old people are cranky! As for Griffin, I've never really seen much of her. Although she seems to always be on. I'll have to give her show a try. I know she's been around for a while, but the only thing I really know her from is that SEINFELD episode, which is one of my favorites, actually.

I too find myself loving her "honesty." I find her self deprecation a little phony, a little real and a lot funny!
I just saw a marathon of her show and all I can say is she works her butt off to be a celebrity. I am talking about all the traveling she has to do...tiring.

LOVE her! I'm so glad the D-List is back. Did anyone catch the season premiere? "Crowd control" when Kathy gets the key to the city in Louisville. Kathy's "blue state vagina." The gay gynecologist fanboy who flipped out and made her request a pap smear and mammogram when signing her DVD. Tyra playing along with her. A newly svelte Matt. The E-Bay auction (why did I never hear of this?!) Enjoyed every minute.
The Kathy and Margaret Cho suggestion upthread? I'm all over it!
Can't wait to see what happens with the E-Bay "houseguest" next week.

hahaha, I loved her jokes about the crowd too.
"I don't do this usually in a crowd this size--but I want you all to know, I am going to meet each and every one of you personally."
I thought she and Matt were getting a divorce?

There's no age limit for her show right? I'm 16 and my mom is worried that if she buys tickets that they won't let me in.

Really? (that better not be a sarcastic comment) Well that sucks...

Are you sure it's not up to the venue? I found this quote from Kathy on her message boards...
"The kids at my show is a tough one. I was a foul mouthed kid. What can
I tell ya'? So it's definitely up to you. Also check with the venue. They
may have rules of their own. I can guarantee I will be swearing and using
the f word and much worse. The way I see it, it's a victimless crime. Now
that I think of it, no one under 89 should come. That's how old my Dad is
and he can barely take it. XXOO, KG"

I just watched this weeks "D-List" show on my DVR and I am still crying after watching her entertain the troops in Iraq. So good to see them laugh and watch their faces light up and even sadder to know that some of them won't make it back home.
any of you on the west coast can check her out at 8 on Gameshow Marathon on CBS!

Anyone know what the dress is like for seeing her? I'm seeing her tomorrow! SO excited.
