Joan Rivers is proof of that.

Katie hasn't looked like Joey for a few years now, but at least her eyes don't look dead in that picture.
And, LaurenB, I had the same reaction when I realized that was Lara Flynn Boyle. That's awful. She and Priscilla Presley must use the same doctor.

Joan Rivers looks like an alien now. She totally creeps me out.
For every one example of plastic surgery that (sort of) works, I can show you a hundred that don't.
In most cases it's all-too-obvious, and just makes everyone look like Frankenstein's monster.
It's not attractive at all. It doesn't make them look young. It just makes them look deformed, bloated and dead.
Why people embrace it, I'll never know. It's easier to win the lottery than it is to have a face lift come out right. Proof of that is in the disasters walking around on the streets of L.A. and down the many red carpets.

Besty-I agree with you with one exception-soap stars.
I've been watching All My Children since the day it started and every time someone has face work, I'm amazed at how natural it looks. I can't think of one of those actors who lost the original character in their face over all these years.
If I ever have a lift (which I'm not, lol) I'd like to know who the soap opera surgeon is!

So true, shamey. Marlo Thomas had that cute, perky nose on "That Girl." And as she got older, her face started to age naturally, but her cute perky nose didn't.
It was the "Nose of Dorian Gray."
It looked really weird for many years. A "no age zone," until she started messing with other things a bit on her face to balance it out.
And she's one of the LUCKY ones. Most never balance it out.
