I knew very little about the history (and the mystery) of the ruby slippers from the Wizard of Oz. Discovered this documentary the other day and thought I would share. Probably old news to some but it was new to me. Kent Warner and Debbie Reynolds deserve a lot of credit for saving and preserving so much of the old MGM costumes and props. I found this documentary fascinating.Anyone know if it was as a DVD extra or a made for TV doc? I'd love to buy it.(and see the entire show)

Thanks for that link, romantico.
It would be interesting to have somebody do a follow up on this, as so much has happened to the remaining pairs since that program was produced, including the theft of the pair that was on display at the Judy Garland Museum in Grand Rapids, MN.

SO it was made for A&E? I assumed it was for TCM. Interesting.
I had no clue they were stolen. I am really enjoying the research on these ruby slippers. I saw a book on Amazon by Rhys Thomas that I think I'm gonna buy
