Then you MUST be a supporter of the Second Amendment and it guaranteeing that you have the right to arm yourself with the same technology as the standing infantry. Because you can't overthrow them without similar or better weapons. SOOOO that means you're HAVE to be against the assualt weapons ban.

I got to fire a XM-8 assault rifle which is being developed to replace the M-16 not too long ago. Now THAT'S a sweet piece of machinery!

Back on topic:

Kerry draws the line for me between changing your mind to do what is best, and changing your mind because you are a career politician and you know that you're making a decision to win the adoration of the highest quantity of voters.

I agree that the Flip-Flop thing is a bit of a glass house scenario for the GOP, but Kerry has demonstrated that he is on the most active side of the spectrum with regards to this issue. Partisanship aside for one second... his lack of a consistent position on several important issues worries me. How do you the folks from the other party rationalize this in their hearts. I don't want statistics or specifics... I want to know how you can support an indecisive presidential candidate, actually worse... an indecisive candidate that votes anyway. (Please nothing snarky... this is a legit question.)

I honestly see Kerry's taking in new information, digesting it, and altering his course after integrating the new information into his consciousness as a positive thing.

Apparently, the candidate from the other party is constitutionally incapable of such things and will stay the course in spite of massive evidence from his own advisors that he is in a quagmire to be his ultimate worst quality. Going back, and with hindsight, announcing that his intentions for starting the whole mess have changed again (ie flip flopping on the reason for invading Iraq) is the least of his very big problems, large though it is.

Also, fans of incumbent presidents kind of lose the high ground when talking about "career politicians," especially when the incumbent president is from a family that sees itself as a political dynasty and the current president wouldn't have achieved anything, at all, were it not for affirmative action for white people, ie legacy. Yale. Harvard. Getting the government to invest a million dollars in giving him flight training only to have him flagrantly flout his obligation to the National Guard. Being appointed to the job by partisan activist judges who stole the presidency from the rightful candidate.

But other than that, he's definitely morally superior.

Rodey, you made absolutly no response to my post whatsoever. My position (or lack thereof, as a matter of fact) on the second amendment is no more relavent to the topic than Clinton's military record. Yes... I think the term "on the ropes" is appropriote here.

And it seems to me that every time you are proved incorrect you have to revert back to that "must...not...let...liberals..." bullsh*t, because of a lack of any intelligent response.

Aw come on, Robbiej, I can bet that some people would agree with you seriously on that topic. I can name a few!

And if you don't like winky faces, I totally understand. I'm a teenage girl so I tend to overuse them.

EDIT: And Curtain Up, which post of mine did you read? I don't discourage allies, I discourage chasing useless allies who have made it clear that they don't want to help. I am very happy that we have allies, and I respect them for coming to our aid- in whatever form that is.
