Let's hear it for Delta Airlines suspending "special services perks" for members of Congress while TSA workers are not getting paid. Glad somebody was able to express anger to people in Congress with something that might actually affect their lives. Now I could be really snarky and say why do they get perks at all but that is another issue.

A government shutdown would never happen if Congress didn't get paid during it. It's a simple solution to avoid another one.

Yes, but the problem is Congress is not going to vote for themselves not getting paid.

Well, it appears the Senate finally reached a deal, think the House has to vote on it today. I am really hoping Delta says F*** you to Congress and does not give them back the "special perks".

I would give him a bit of a break. He has the slimmest majority of any House Speaker I can remember. All it takes is one or two Republicans to disagree on anything and he is screwed. There was no way he was going to get all the votes he needed on the bill Senate passed at 3am and ran home. Thune and Schumer are a disgrace.
One thing you can say about Pelosi whether you liked her or not, she always held together her members and few ever dared to cross her!!!
Trump signed executive order to pay TSA agents again. I am not sure but think that is not legal since Congress is supposed to fund the government. That being said, what federal judge is going to strike down executive order to pay TSA agents money they are owed.
