Loved Sixth Sense. Hated Unbreakable (aka Unwakeable). Liked Signs until the ending. Liked The Village, which I found to be implausable, yet fun to watch. I'll probably go see Lady in the Water because I generally just like the style of Shymalan's films, with the exception of Unbreakable, which put me to sleep.

Beware SUSPICION and CHARADE. Very inferior films, imo.

I love Unbreakable. I enjoyed THE VILLAGE, though thought bits of it dragges without purpose to the story.

I just hung up that HUGE banner of LITW, it's about 7 feet wide and 5 feet tall in my room. Covers my whole wall, I love it.

I am excited to see the movie. But I really want to see Clerks II. I hope I can get the banner to it. Though someone tried to get my pin..."We're open 'till we close"

I can't wait to see, I do have an uneasy feeling though. I loved the Village so much and Signs was fantastic as well. I didn't like Unbreakable and find The 6th Sense overrated. I am a huge M. Night fan though and consider him one of my favorite directors. I can't wait to see and judge this one.

So, I the only real fan here, huh? I love all his films. And, I appear to be the only one who saw WIDE AWAKE, as no one else mentioned it.

Did anyone read Moriarty's review on Ain't It Cool? Wow...

"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

I read the review but I kind of refuse to read Harry's reviews anymore after he discussed, in graphic detail, his burning sh**s after eating White Castle sliders. *shudder*

Have to say, though, with the slew of movies coming out this weekend, Lady is fourth on my list behind Clerks 2, Monster House and My Super Ex-Girlfriend. If this had come out last week, I probably would have seen it already as I had no interest in You Me and Dupree and even less interest in Little Man. In fact, I've never had less interest in any movie EVER than Little Man. Except maybe White Chicks.

I hated CLERKS, but I will see CLERKS II.

I'm more likely to see MY SUPER EX-GIRLFRIEND before LADY IN THE WATER.

And just so you know...LITW got horrible, horrible reviews.

THE VILLAGE got horrible reviews, too, and that was my favorite film of 2004, so that doesn't concern me in the slightest. I just found out that I won't be able to see it, until Sunday! Most films that are praised, I despise, so I am not in synch with who is reviewing films, these days, at all.

I despised THE VILLAGE. I laughed out loud at certain parts.

My favorite moment was when the blind girl was able to tell exactly where the giant hole was, and KNEW where the guy was, and was just conveniently standing in the exact spot, and knew JUST when to move out of the way. Then, they show Brody in the hole with his porcupine costume.

I don't think I've ever laughed so hard...

I just came back from seeing Lady in the Water. Not so very good.

There is a fascinating story in this movie that was completely botched in its telling. It starts out slow and uninvolving, then as the plot is awkwardly revealed, it shifts quickly into clumsy, heavy-handed and finally laughable. I admired the basic idea of this original story, but everything about the writing, the telling of it, and the direction seemed to misfire.

The cast wasn't bad at all, and there are a few nice acting moments, and the music score was good. I certainly couldn't recommend this film to anyone, unfortunately. It fails on so many critical levels (mostly writing and directing).

I didn't see Wide Awake. Maybe I should rent it.

I do want to see Monster House and My Super Ex-Girlfriend. I am undecided on Clerks 2. I will probably end up seeing it but it is at the bottom of my list.

Because it actually looks funny and I love Wanda Sykes and Rosario Dawson.

plus, it's not in black and white. I hated that. It was so stupid.

Again, Clerks II is very little like Clerks. It's much more prefessional. The acting is much better. It's more crass than the original but the story is also much better.

I will give you this warning, if you are going for Wanda Sykes, she is in the film less than five minutes.

Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!

Saw LITW tonight.

One day Shyamalan decided to masturbate all over a film strip. The result was something called Lady in the Water.

This movie, with its lackluster story (that showed some potential, as best12bars stated), was a way for M. Night to stick his middle finger up at the critics. Forget the trailer - it really has little to do with the purpose of this film. M. Night, who has more than just a cameo in this movie, has a line in which he indirectly, though very obviously, calls critics arogant and, well, oh so wrong (I do agree, but do we need a movie about it!?).

But the best part was that his character will go on to publish a book that inspires some one so much to create a movement out of it, after becoming leader of the world. Of course, to compare himslef to Martin Luther King, Jr. (who gets mentioned in the movie), Shyamalan's charcter will also be killed for his ideas. But, of course, this has nothing to do with the movie.

The twists and turns in this movie are completely uninspired. Imagine if Levin got bored after page one of DEATHTRAP.

The movie was also quite racist, with the hispanics as the Guild - those who use their hands...and the 50's Asian hooker and her grandma who are as stereotypical as a Jew's big nose.

Shyamalan really seemed to get lazy with this one - making each "law" change to fit his needs. Seriously, Story wasn't allowed to say anything about her world - then she gives extra details over the walkie-talkie....?

Prepare to laugh at this movie. Yes, AT. Has Shyamalan ran out of ideas?

As for the filming - M. Night has become a parody of himself - trying to be so artsy that it annoyingly hurts the film. Updated On: 7/22/06 at 03:03 AM

I've never seen what the big deal is about THE SIXTH SENSE. The kid sees dead people and gets scared. Then he sees dead people and gets scared. Then he sees dead people and gets scared. Then he sees dead people and gets scared. Then he sees dead people and gets scared. Then he sees dead people and gets scared. Then he sees dead people and gets scared. Then he talks to his mom. Then he sees dead people and gets scared. Then he talks to Bruce Willis. Then he sees dead people and gets scared. Then he sees dead people and gets scared. Then he sees dead people and gets scared. Then he sees dead people and gets scared.

A bore. I saw that alleged "surprise ending" coming from a mile off. Of course I did, because the movie wasn't giving me anything else to think about. Basically, it's a 20 minute movie in a 2 hour package.

I've not seen any of M. Night Charlatan's other films. I was thinking about seeing LADY, only to see the sublime Giamatti and the sublime Jeffrey Wright and the magnificent God On Earth Bill Irwin. But the uniform badness of the reviews will probably have me wait for cable.

Of course, considering the state of movie reviews lately, it might be a masterpiece after all.
