1. Don't you mean she WAS the warm up comic? Nate Berkus got cancelled.
2. I think a deal is in the works, word got out, to "save" it he had t say no it wasn't true…why wait a couple of days?

I believe that a deal that involves Seth Meyers and "Live!" is in the works between Seth's people and ABC. I also believe that someone didn't get the memo to keep it hush hush. So to save the deal, future excitement and hooplah, etc. they made Seth release a statement to squash any rumors.
