I went the last night in Chicago.
It was a religious experience.

People, people, I need you all to keep up. Alls y'alls should be seeing her during the run at Radio City.
I saw The Monster Ball twice, or, if you will, I've seen two Monsters Balls. I agree with Stick's assessment. Light years ahead of Madonna in every aspect, no wonder Madonna tried to c**k-block her on the SNL sketch.
The thing that kept hitting me was how embarrassed everybody who ever invested anything in the careers of the post-Mousketeers (except maybe Christina if I'm being generous) should feel once they see Gaga live. For instance, if I were a person who wasted a dime on paying to watch Britney's current Thorazine Tour where she kind of moved her lips while the CD played, it would have been a complete revelation. Look! Gaga can sing AND dance! Look! There's an epic production up there but it's like performance art, not a distraction!
And since you did bring Madonna up... oh, poor Madonna. Mistakenly hitching her I'm-still-down wagon to the likes of Britney and Justin. Total flub. I knew if the world was patient, the next Madonna (when she was good, creative and interesting) would reveal herself. Madonna, who once could be counted on to know these things, totally missed the boat.
And also, you guys should be seeing my beloved Semi-Precious Weapons! What is wrong with youse?
Here's a good Gaga assessment from the Voice, if you haven't seen a copy:

And work with charities from square one of her first major headline tour!

Trust me--it devastates me that I'm not seeing this tour. But, I gots to pay for a move, a wedding, and a trip home this year. Suze Orman is already on my ass about my spending. (ok--so like she only tweeted me once, but still)
Although if there are still tix on Saturday, it would set a ritual--last time I moved, I had to scurry off as soon as the truck drove away to see Mika.
Isn't it all sold out?

Ugh, I just got through two moves, work and home. My Gaga shows were oases.
Also, if everybody out there who has ever used the words "glam" and "Adam Lambert" in the same sentence could drop the three bucks on the new Semi-Precious Weapons ep that hit iTunes yesterday, it'll be like that same wooshing sensation you felt when you heard the real versions of the songs you only knew from Kidz Bop.
Thank you.

Posted: 1/21/10 at 11:10amWho cares about all that? The burning question is: can she perform Evita six times per week? or at least can she do a remake of the movie?

Posted: 1/21/10 at 11:44amShe's seem to be overflowing with her own creativity. Right now I would assume she'd consider something like that to be a one-way ticket to Squaresville.

I'm too po'.
And the nosebleeds at Radio Ciy for a show like this just won't cut it, I wouldn't think.
Should I hang around outside saying "extra ticket? extra ticket?" like one of those crazies who are always outside theatres? Has that ever actually worked?

She would make a brilliant Evita. Yes, even better than the Golden Globe winner.

She's got much much muuuuuuuuuuuch better things to do with her time.
You guys, you should have registered for that deal where if you give 8-hours of your time to a Gaga-alligned charity you got a VIP ticket to her show. I am sure I put a link about that at the beginning of the tour.

Posted: 1/21/10 at 1:54pmShe just wasn't close enough for me to even consider it. That's too bad. I've never really seen a big pop concert like that before, I've only ever seen rock bands. Gaga would be the perfect first in that respect.

Posted: 1/21/10 at 2:07pmIt's too bad that this concert wasn't happening last weekend, when I was in the city. Otherwise I'd totally be there.

She did the Barbara Walters interview. Can't get much more Squaresville than that.
She's still young enough to be believed as Evita (Eva Peron died at 33). And Lady Gaga would get to die every night. How cool is that?

My friend who went with me on the second night was the same as you. She couldn't believe how great it was an hasn't stopped talking about it since.

Posted: 1/21/10 at 2:22pmI actually would kind of want to hear her sing some of the songs from Evita. In their original key, of course. And she could design her own glam costumes!

Going on Saturday! (And for the record, skipped the last Madonna tour and didn't give a toss.)
To those who went: favourite number(s)?

Just checked it out- yeah, sorry, still muuuuch prefer Adam :P
Anyway, I wish I had enough money to do concerts right now! I'd absolutely love to see this. I'm sure GaGa's shows are seriously incredible.
Also, I'm kind of really obsessed with Teeth right now. It's pure awesome. Just thought I'd throw that out there :) (also obsessed with Speechless. But THIS version of it: http://www.vevo.com/watch/lady-gaga/speechless-live-at-the-vevo-launch-event/USUV70904460 more so than the recorded version)
