DG, I believe you just made a typo - didn't you mean "with", not "like"?

Actually, I did mean like - and those who have had personal interaction with priests will know what I mean re: 'let's have some fun'

I used to have one priest friend who made me swear that if anything happened to him I'd go immediately to his room and remove the gym bag that held his porn and paraphrenalia.

Now, genuflect.

re: 'let's have some fun'

My first two years in college, on the few nights I could actually party, I would go to the Village Station in Dallas back many many years ago when it was THE place to be seen and they didn't check IDs. Shortly thereafter, I spent about 10 years either in rehearsals or performances, which actually was my idea of fun. Later, when I returned to college, my female fundamentalist Christian best friend and I would perform choreographed fistfights from our Stage Combat classes on the outside patios of gay bars. Either that, or we would go to punk coffee houses, and then window shop for furniture posing as an engaged couple. I miss her so much...

Thank you Matt, for bringing us back on topic...

"alcopop"...related to Al Capone? Seriously, Papa's right with this article... too many kids (16-20 ish) are doing all the things adults did wrong at a shockingly early age...and they're paying the price. Wise up young un's or you may not live to be old farts!

Now...who's having good fun?

Curtain - of all the things that I have read in this forum that have struck me as sad, that is the saddest. You bolstered me the other day, and I wish there was something I could say that would help move you toward different choices - or at least perspective - in your life.

re: 'let's have some fun'

Thank you DG. I appreciate your concern. But my comment was actually just a weak attempt at being facetious. (I think) Although, I just finished having a phone conversation with a friend who I hadn't spoken to in a while, and she was reminding me of how much fun I used to be. I haven't felt that way in a while. I don't know if that person exists anymore. I guess it's a combination of what's going on in the world and what's going on (or not going on) in my private life. Although, I know I have a lot to be thankful for, and lately I've been trying to count my blessings and be grateful for what I have, rather than focus on what I don't. Some days are better and brighter than others. But I've got to admit, keeping a positive attitude, in this day and age, is a struggle for me. But I'm trying. Thanks again. And I'm glad to see you've managed to overcome your malaise and are back to posting on a regular basis. re: 'let's have some fun'

Curtain - believe me, I GET IT re: 'let's have some fun' I just want you to know that, in your own small way, you helped me through my own process.

re: 'let's have some fun'

I'm so boring it's ridiculous. I've had a few people I met here (as well as other places) tell me they envy my life and job and would want to be me in a heartbeat. Haha. Go ahead -- you can have it lol

In all seriousness though.... I work.... practically all the time. When I'm not working, I'm at a show (last night it was Chicago with the lovely Undiscovered!), and even sometimes when Im at a show, I'm still working!

I used to party like a rockstar -- pull all nighters and then come home with enough time to shower, change and go to work -- but I just can't do that anymore. I did that 6 days a week for 3 years... when those 3 years were over, I felt like I'd aged 10! haha

I still love to go out dancing and go to my bar here with friends on the weekends (when I'm not working and not exhausted lol)... I love meeting up with friends in the city for lunch or dinner, or drinks after a show. I'm pretty low-key these days...

Maybe today it will explode. After all, it's Hump day.
