... because your posts upset his/her world which he/she views through rose-colored glasses and this person prefers to post sweetness and light and only positive things. And this person has announced that he/she has at least one other person blocked.
And let's say the he/she starts a thread and posts something that by any definition could be called "mean." And sort of hateful. And kind of looksist. And not surprisingly a bit homophobic.
And then let's say that you, as one of the blocked people, posts a response as does the other person that he/she has announced that he/she has blocked.
WHAT would cause that original poster to edit out the mean response and then get the thread deleted? How could the poster have known what the responses were, given that the only responses the thread got were from you and the other blockee?
It is a puzzlement. I always thought that if a negative post is posted and nobody is there to see it, it doesn't really happen.

Blocking the poster only removes those posts from regular view.
However, when you press reply, the reply box appears at the top of the screen and all previous posts scroll down from there--IN REVERSE ORDER.
Within this reverse order, you can see the posts from the blocked poster--even if you don't want to!

It was almost purely hypothetical!
And PJ, your response made me dizzy. Er.

But Joey if that were the case here why would the original poster reply to his own post? No one else but the "blocked" parties had replied at the time of the deletion.
My Sister in law was "blocked" once and went to the emergency room where she was diagnosed as FOS...(full of ****) they unblocked her and sent her on her way, much relieved.

There are two versions of "blocked", as I understand it. Under "Your Settings", you can choose to block a particular poster and their posts will not appear in threads.
The more common type of blocking is to prevent someone from being able to PM you, but all their PMs are still visible in each thread.
That's usually what is going on if you try to PM someone and get the black letters announcing that "Sorry. This user does not accept PMs." Which generally means that they just don't accept PMs from YOU.

Namo, this is one of those age old message board questions to which we may never know the answer, "If you have me blocked, how is it that you always know what I post?"

Posted: 1/13/06 at 6:25pmBut how do they know that the blockees have responded to them and how does people they've blocked writing something in their thread motivate them to have the thread deleted? Hypothetically?
