women with baby carriages who think they own the world.....yesterday at our zoo, some beotch with a double carriage was blocking the entrance to the bath to both the male and female bathrooms. I said "excuse me" and she ignored me.....I then told her what I would do to the carriage if she did not immediately move it. She moved it."

Jane2, one has to wonder what kind of effect congestion pricing would have on neighborhoods like yours, not to mention possible limits being placed on hours, parking, lights and noise for those doing film shoots.
All too true, BFB!

I love threads like this that start all pretty, and everyone sighs, and then they get UGLY in a heartbeat.
Lately these "life is beautiful" sentiments are passed around via email, and are almost always followed with: "Forward this email to everyone you know in the next 24 hours or face the wrath of an unmerciful God. The choice is yours. Have a nice day!"

don't forget ny....you've banned me......
I always take what I dish out......I just don't spend my days searching for 2-3 year old "dirt" (or what Wrath assumes is dirt).
and I, unlike you, don't whine that "no one understands me" which is a really tacky way to say everyone is wrong, I'm right.........
but since you've banned me, of course you won't see this....yeah.............right.
Besty, do not use Rath's name in vain......

I read over nygrl23's post thinking it was a story of beauty, but now that I read back over it, it does seem kind've pessimistic. I guess it just depends on how you look at it.
Anyway, back to the topic. I love this picture

Posted: 3/29/08 at 3:35pmI don't understand why this Elphaba poster feels the need to attack. Nygrl23's post was not a downer in my estimation. I also found it well written. 'Bundled in laughter' is my new favorite expression.

Oh, no, of course I know you're joking.
Here's my story of beauty for the day.
Today I had the pleasure of sleeping in. I must have slept till 11:30 AM. It’s nice to wake up to sunlight and blue sky pouring into the window. With the exception of morning breath, I felt refreshed and joyous. I jumped into a stream of hot water that burned my cold skin. My body adjusted to the temperature quickly and as my body warmed up, my soul warmed up. This moment is so crucial to my day. (That’s why I don’t understand how people can shower at night and not in the morning.) After showering, I felt rejuvenated and ready for the day.
Don’t you love those precious private moments when we are allowed peace and quiet? Don’t you love the moments when we are allowed to function as a single unit without any restrictions to tie us down? I sure do.
I live for weekends.

Posted: 3/30/08 at 10:37pmBW-don't hate me, but I have those beautiful moments every day! Today I also woke up at 11 after almost 12 hours of sleep. oy. I treasure my mornings. I've been having them for so many years since I left teaching, that I think I may be starting to take them for granted. Thanks for the reminder.

Yes, a morning shower is one of the most important things to me.
I also slept in, got up at 11, found out that someone stole my NY Times (but that's okay), had lunch, then walked up Riverside drive, then back down to Riverside Park. It is one of the best parts of NYC.
