Maybe I just watched it expecting too much, but I didn't think it was that good at all. I didn't think it was bad...I just thought it was run-of-the-mill. I didn't know what made these characters so wonderful, what made the actors so great, what made the screenplay so stunning. It was cute. It was entertaining. It was not a best picture. Abigail Breslin did remarkably well for a ten-year-old. I just don't get the hype. I thought it was average and even a little forgettable.
i loved LMS. you guys are just used to show-stopping big budget films. have some appreciation for the little guys. but then again, i also love dry humor.

I love "little Indy guys" as long as they have a good, coherent plot.
LMS did not.
But it had ACTING!!!
I refuse to just root for the underdog simply because they're the underdog.
Incidentally, doesn't that movie come out this summer? I used to love the cartoon.
I love independent films. I just didn't like MLS.
MLS?
Are you afraid of buying a house?
I LOVED the film and completely agreed with Breslin's nomination. I also agreed with every other nomination it received EXCEPT for Alan Arkin's. I would have much rather given the nomination to Paul Dano for his fantastic portrayal of the film's most layered character or even Steve Carrel for his brilliantly nuanced performance. I also feel Toni Colette was robbed out of a nomination.
