Ha. I do that as well. I'll see an actor in something and then be all about them for a few weeks.
Your comment was taken in fun. No worries. It sparked some fun chat.

Posted: 8/1/08 at 12:30pmWhat a shame that These Old Broads was as lousy as it was. It started out with killer ratings, and as the night went on, it lost most of its audience. Had it been really good, it might have started a series of "Old Broads" films!

Now I'm worried about HER! She is looking very frail to me.

Okay, she's very sick, Miss Penny.
That's not the face of a 75-year-old (with or without surgeries). Perhaps the years of near-fatal illnesses have caught up with her... but she is not well.
She has that "look" to her that says something's wrong.
*sigh*
I hope we don't lose Brick and Maggie in the same year!
I was just thinking how few "movie legends" there are left, still alive. Elizabeth Taylor was the first name that came to mind.

Is that a legit picture or has it been edited? When was it taken?
Offhand it looks like the aftereffects of a stroke.

Apparently so, Jane. And if it is... I'm very concerned.
Something is "consuming" her now, and it's more than Father Time.

I swear at first glance I wasn't sure, Besty. I even thought it might be Liza for a second. I"m a really big fan of Liz and I didn't recognize her.
awww.

I'm glad someone bumped this- I've wondered how she's been doing. Since the original posting she's survived being shot down and interrogated in a Viet Namese prison camp, choking on an accidentally swallowed beer bottle cap, knocked down by a belligerant goat at an illegal petting zoo, three car accidents and food poisoning from eating some fried chicken she found in the yard (AGAIN! You'd think she'd learn!)
I'm grateful for every day we have with her.

Bless her heart. She's another one who's done so much for others through her work for the AIDS foundation and I just hate the thought of her suffering now.
This is the way she'll always look to me:

Fabulous, Mamie.
I thought she was her most gorgeous in both Butterfield 8 and the VIPS.

This photo was taken on September 25 when she attended an AIDS Benefit in LA, it appears that Miss P's photo was taken at the same event. God Bless her, for still lending her time and her persona to the cause. GETTING OLD SUCKS!

JAG---Your picture looks better, but she still looks very gaunt and frail. She's "melting" and I'm not trying to be funny about it.
She looks like she's in her 90s now, not her mid-70s. It's the look of very poor health.
Makes me want to cry. She's had a crazy, wonderful, almost unimaginable life. She has consumed a lot over the years, and she has given so much back to the world it's almost staggering.
I wish I could hug her right now and ask her if there's anything she needs!

Such a gorgeous, glamorous creature. And yet, she would risk the world seeing her look so gaunt and aged to be a part of something meaningful she has publicly supported for years. She obviously cares more about making a difference in the lives of people in need than preserving forever in the public's eye her physical beauty.
We love you, Liz.

Posted: 9/28/08 at 10:02pmWow, she really looks like her mother in that picture. She made an annoucement yesterday about the passing of Paul Newman. So, the "reports" of her on life support, obviously, aren't true.

Posted: 9/29/08 at 1:42amThis thread was started months ago. Liz WAS on life support back then. I just revived the thread rather than start my own when I saw how frail she looked today. That's all.
