Will she pull a Kanye and get up on stage and present it to him during the other person's acceptance speech?
Because that would be fvcking amazing.

She should really give it to Diana Ross.
Yeah, I said it. And...?
Diana did not deserve it. And she deserved to loose and be humiliated that way. (YES.. I SAID IT) Love her. But she had one of the shadiest Oscar campaigns.
Yay!!! I ruffled some feathers!!
Mission accomplished!
Suckaaaa!!!
PUTA MALA!
Now tell me something I don't know PRECIOSA!
*smooches*
And that is why I love you.
DAME - care to dish on this Diana Ross Oscar campaign and her losing? I tried google to no avail.
Berry Gordy, Jr. mounted an Oscar campaign for Miss Ross' performances that literally made the phrase "For your CONSIDERATION" an oxymoron.
I've seen the ads. Subtle they are not.
True Miss Ross got positive reviews and her performance was strong but subtle is something that isn't in Gordy's DNA. So he pushed...and pushed...and pushed until he found himself pushing Miss Ross out of an Oscar win.
It was overkill and it basically started with the film's original ad campaigns tagline:
"Diana Ross IS Billie Holliday!"
Very well explained Alberto. It was unfortunately the beginning of how Oscar campaigns are these days.
Yes. Gordy basically constructed the template used to this very day (with some modifications) by the studios to campaign for eligible nominees.

Wow! Thanks for sharing. I can definitely see similarities by how things are run nowadays.
It also did not sit well wit Diana's difficult reputation at the time.
AT THE TIME?????
I think now it has reached a mythical status. At the time it was very true.
A few years ago my friend was working in the kitchen at a resort down south where she was performing. She wanted to make her entrance through that kitchen so she wouldn't have to be anywhere near "the public". Her people came in before she entered and said that when she walks through everyone must lower their heads and ABSOLUTELY NO EYE CONTACT with her.
Bitch must have been surprised when my friend stared her down as she made her way through before rolling his eyes at her.
These stories always surround her and there are too many for them not to be true. But at this age she has kind of earned the right not to be looked at if she must make a entrance to a venue thru the kitchen. ( or I don't know... me just justifying).
I do love that Tyler Perry keeps begging her to do a movie and she is all like 'HELL NO".
I really have to disagree. Nobody has or ever will earn the right to demand they not be looked at by people as they walk by them.
I have no problem with her being a grade A psycho bitch. But let's not pretend she's not just that. lol
I disagree with you on that. If the circumstance is that she is about to make a entrance and do a show... I think she should ask for whatever makes her comfortable. She is there to put on a show. Not to be social. Sting and Aretha have riders suggesting similar things in their contracts. What was that site you could read peoples contracts in?
Oh, I don't know about any site like that! That would be fun to see, though.
And I feel the same way about them or anyone else who feels they are "above" other people. Because while they might have more money and be known by more people, that in no way gives them the right to make people feel small and to lower their heads as they walk by.
You see.. I don't think it is about being better than anyone. I think when you are about to do a show you need to do whatever it is you need to do. And if at her age she doesn't want to deal with anyone right before.. then it is her prerogative. If they don't like it.. then they don't have to hire her.
I think the site was part of smoking gun.
Mary Wilson is the one who started the rumors...LOL
It is sad that if you go see a Mary Wilson show she still talks all bitter and really lives in the past.
By the way... this is the site... but they circulate their documents and I guess Diana is not relevant enough ( right now) for the link still to be up. But read thru some of the other contracts.. Very interesting..

I think it's an interesting kind of Catch-22. To have become a mega-star, presumably one worked like crazy to get the eyes of the world ON you. If you succeed, though, I can **imagine** that constantly having to deal with all the crazy emotions that beam at you from the eyes of people STARING at you wherever you go must be draining/exhausting.
On the other hand, that's the ride for which you bought a ticket, right?
There's no doubt, though, that insisting that people "can't look" at you is a sure-fire way to seem like you think you are some sort of Superior Being, which leads to ruffled feathers and being labeled a delusional b*tch--or worse.
