Tucked away at the bottom of NYPost coverage (which I found while following that stupid Michael Reidel link) was this pithy comment from a former BWW poster. To think we used to know her when!!!
"There are more people hanging around for the whole show now," says Corine Dana Cohen, who writes about Broadway on corinescorner.com. "I guess fewer of them have jobs to get back to."

Why are you making us read her crap?
It's like having clicking on a link and seeing that you've just given Perez Hilton another hit.
btw, what is Corine's job?
Notice that SHE was around for the whole show... There's your answer, Jane.
Of course-that's what prompted my question!
She was the first... the trend setter!

I think Corine has picked up a few good lessons from her idol Michael Musto. Number one being "always be ready with a short and clever quotable quote." I know I often gently tease Corine, but I have a long history of praising her when she gets something right, and in my opinion, this is one of those times.
I think it might have been nicer and more supportive of Broadway and the performers if she had said it was the quality of the performances that was keeping people there for the whole show and not the fact that they just don't have anything better to do. JMHO

Corine Dana Cohen + Michael Musto= the match made in heaven.
Whoops, Corine doesn't believe in heaven because "theater is her religion"
"but I have a long history of praising her when she gets something right, and in my opinion, this is one of those times."
I also believe in giving credit where credit is due, but what did she get right? Saying the reason why people stay longer is because they have no jobs?

She turned a comment about a frivolous event into a statement about the economy.
Also, I can't see DP's two statements as anything but good things.
Thanks, Namo.
PS I am out of work. And am looking so call me.
Also, NYC is my passion. I LOVE NY.

Maybe you should sell your puppets?
In these tough economic times, you could maybe get a couple of dollars for those...
Or those snow cones!

Perhaps Corine should ask her buddy Musto to put her on his staff. Should correct his grammar!
Way to go, Corine! Good quote and great observation.
