Some people value tax cuts more than dignity.Nothing will cure their greed. The LCR also known as "Jews For Hitler".
"Ignoring his calls to pass an anti-gay marriage amendment in his home state and his positions on a number of gay and lesbian issues, the Log Cabin Republicans today endorsed Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) for president of the United States.
Issuing a statement from the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis, Log Cabin Republicans president Patrick Sammon that "on the most important issue that LGBT Americans faced in the last decade-the federal marriage amendment-Sen. John McCain stood with us. Now we stand with him."
The organization also praised the Senator's pick of Sarah Palin for Vice President, despite her anti-gay stands on issues such as hate crimes extensions and employment protection. The group said the pick shows McCain is committed to living up to his reputation as a "maverick."
"Sen. McCain has always shown a willingness to reach out and engage in dialog with Log Cabin, while considering all sides of an issue," Sammon said, expressing confidence that McCain will continue such talks if he is elected.
The organization said that the vote of the board was 12 in favor of the endorsement and two opposed. The Board has 17 members, including 16 men and one woman."

Now you are going off topic.I am talking about the LCR.
Any gay man who supports McCain and his policies is a self loathing coward.

"Log Cabin President Patrick Sammon made the following statement about Sen. McCain's selection of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin:
"Alaska Governor Sarah Palin can help Sen. McCain win this election by appealing to independent and young voters. She's a mainstream Republican who will unite the Party and serve John McCain well as Vice President. Gov. Palin is an inclusive Republican who will help Sen. McCain appeal to gay and lesbian voters."

Palin will HELP McCain appeal to gay and lesbian voters? Is Patrick Sammon off his freaking rocker?
re: Log Cabin Republicans stand firmly behind John McCain#8
Posted: 9/9/08 at 6:44pmI didn't go off topic. You mentioned party. I was speaking about the candidate. What has Obama done for gay men?

What has McCain done for gays?
Joe Biden's record on GLBT Issues are excellent.
http://washblade.com/thelatest/thelatest.cfm?blog_id=20701
Obama's record is not as good as Biden's, but its better than McCain's and Palin's who feels gays should just stop being gay and pray the gay away.
So, compared to the Viagra/Vagina 08 card I say Obama and Biden have a better record on GLBT issues.
So, how can the LCR's even live with themselves?
re: Log Cabin Republicans stand firmly behind John McCain#10
Posted: 9/9/08 at 7:01pmI don't get LCR no matter who is the candidate is. Reagan, Bush, Bush have any of them done anything pro-gay?

That's because your head is buried in the sand. Did you read the article I posted? If so, THAT IS WHAT Biden has done. What has McCain done? Still waiting to hear you answer that one Johnny boy. Obviously you are not very good at debating this issue. If you are going to defend McCain and make this claim that he cares about gay people you should at least practice and rehearse on a story to give when confronted. Maybe you can sit in with Sarah Palin. I think she is being coached this week on such issues. McCain's policy 101 I think is what its called.
It goes against party principals for them to do anything pro gay.A candidate can have a daughter who engages in premarital sex and be forced to marry a guy at 17 and they call themselves the party of family values and morals. They can have their own politicians shakes their finger and preach about the sins of homosexuality while they get arrested for soliciting sex with homosexuals in airport restrooms. However, they feel a loving couple who wants to spend the rest of their life together is THEIR business and their happiness is an evil plot and agenda to destroy mankind as we know it.
Its like they hate them for having what they want and if they can not have that kind of happiness then no one can. That is the Republican party and why I vote Democrat!

I wasn't defending McCain, at all, or having a debate. I never even mentioned him, did I? I'm defending their right to make whatever choice they want, and pointing out my perception that nothing will be different for homosexuals, if Barama is elected. I have no vested interest in it, but clearly, there are homosexuals who do, and they made their choice. Why should they be called vicious names because of it?

Posted: 9/9/08 at 9:47pmWho do you think a majority of homosexuals will vote for? Vicious names? I am calling them self loathing cowards because that is what they are. Ashamed of who they are and probably making excuses for it as well. I think its rather idiotic of them in the same way Jews in WWII were helping Hitler.

Not true.

There goes that stereotyping again. Please don't make judgments on entire groups of people in one swooping comment.
The intolerance that comes from a lot of people around here is staggering.

Stereotyping? We are talking about the Log Cabin Republicans here. Intolerance? They are totally cool with people like me being treated as a second class citizen. Let me repeat, they are self loathing cowards.
Obama's record regarding gay issues is not as good as Biden's mostly because Biden has more years on Obama. Feel free to list Obama's long list of accomplishments. I am not slamming Obama, because Obama's record is far better than McCain's and Palin's.

Stop deciding you know everything about everyone! Really. I've even had a couple of fools on this board try to tell me what I stand for. They tried to put me in a party, a category. Well, it just ain't happening. I am free from following any one party. I can't agree with everything one party puts forward.
There's so much name calling and venting of hate and anger on here by one party towards the other.
I'll bet there are plenty of conservatives here but they're afraid to speak up. There's only one or two people here who do but you can be sure there are more out there.
I guess this was my turn to vent, but I can't help it-the amount of hate is overwhelming.
Carry on!

Actions speak louder than words.
I make no apologies and I stand by my comments.
Self loathing cowards is probably being to kind. Ask some of my gay friends what they think of the LCR and you will get an earful of name calling you have never heard before. I actually thought I was being kind.
I am not directing hostility or anger towards you Jane2 and I do see where you are coming from. The LCR are a very touchy subject with me. I feel gays and lesbians need to unite. LCR can not defend the Republicans. They really suck at it. You would think over the years they would have perfected their scripted views on how they are changing the Republican party and making a difference, but they are not. They are only making it worse.

romatico - I feel the way you do about LCR about Republicans in general. They support government sanctioned discrimination. How can that not anger everyone who believes all men/women are created equal? It makes me CRAZY. I don't care if you are gay, straight, Latino, handicap or anything.
But the people I feel that are spineless are generally Democratic leadership in this country. People like Clinton, Obama and Biden don't support true equality measures and it infuriates me as a democrat. The Democratic party is our only hope for equality and they are doing a lousy job. Their records are all the same in my eyes.
And you say "Actions Speak Louder Than Words" I do agree but remember some actions are inhibitive and counter progressive. Don't Ask Don't Tell WAS progressive, saying "It's up to the states to decide marriage rights" is inhibitive because it is unconstitutional.

Jane, I love ya, but no one is suggesting you do so. This isn't about saying there is one way people should think or one system of beliefs someone should ascribe to. It's not about being a Republican or Democrat or an Independent. Look at the facts...
I mean, how does this group and their spokesperson expect to NOT be called out when saying Palin is an "inclusive" Republican when her church holds "Pray Away the Gay" events, she supports a ban on gay marriage, publicly opposed the Supreme Court ruling granting same-sex couples benefits, supports denying benefits to gay couples (going so far as to support a constitutional amendment overturning a Supreme Court mandate of those benefits), is against hate crime legislation and more?
It's freaking mind boggling. It's like a Jews and Blacks for David Duke coalition.
