I've seen her tour twice, once in 2001, another in 2003... Does she ever change ANY part of her act? I mean, it's still called "songs my mother taught me," I think she kind of needs to move on...

Lorna just sings Judy's songs for the whole show? Does she do anything of her own?

Silly. The idea of the show is hearing the songs in their original orchestrations again. Usually she does two songs Judy didn't sing: Jerry Herman's "Time Heals Everything," which Jerry asked Lorna to sing on his Hollywood Bowl CD and DVD and the arrangement of "Birth of the Blues" that Sammy Davis Jr left to her when he died.

The whole "something of her own" accusation is tired. She's a woman in her 50s who's long since made peace with the fact that she has a great voice but not the star career or charisma that her mother had or her sister has. She's made her peace with that and now she can use the talent she has to pay tribute to the talented mother who loved her.

It is what it is. But by making the "clever" observation that these are her mother's songs not "hers," you're missing a larger point and some wonderful performances and tributes.

PalJoey, you're exactly on the money with your post. And to add to it further...

Lots of people have said that Lorna is cashing in on her mother's career. That may be true, but you know what? You go, girl. I have the feeling Judy would say the same thing, after all the financial woes she went through in her life. She knew that it's "show BUSINESS", and I think she'd understand completely. Of course, Lorna does have the pipes to sing her Mom's repertoire with the original arrangments, so it's also an opportunity to hear them again in all their glory.

Trekkie,
She not only performs this show but does many other things. She has another act and has been doing some theater ( White Christmas..etc). She has been taking the Judy show and traveling the world with it. GOOD FOR HER.
