In response to the original post - I must admit to be extremely under whelmed by Lorna live. Yes, I was still swept away and caught up in the magic of thinking "That's Judy's daughter...and Liza's half sister" - but her material was overworked, plastic and rehearsed to within an inch of its life - it was awkward and occasionally painful to watch.
Not to mention her vocals which were relatively crap to be blatantly honest. This is only my opinion however - but maybe I just went in expecting a much better vocal showcase then what I got?? I don't know - but depending what her ticket prices are like, I wouldn't personally be going again
Her jokes and anecdotes were hideously delievered and when she sang off pitch (often), she would simply hold the mic so far away from her mouth that her vocal audio would disappear...I was pretty disappointed - but then i don't have much knowledge or experience of her career in it's 'hey-day' so the only respect i could give her as a performer personally was from what i saw

Come on PJ. Be better than that. Stage door; sory you didn't enjoy her. Maybe you can find another performer that better suits your needs and leave this one for us.

PalJoey, I make no apologies for my opinion - I honestly wish I has enjoyed her more - and who knows, maybe I saw her on a particularly off night.
But I am interested to hear what people find so great about her? That question is not meant to be negative or laiden with sarcasm - as someone who may have 'not got it' - what is it about her that so many indeed adore?

I saw her in White Christmas,
and I think she was nothing
short of fantastic,
there's no doubt about it,
she carried that show.
What an amazing voice!
What an amazing actress!
And she was actually
okay at dancing too lol

She steals this trio on "Wherever He Ain't" from Florence Lacey and Karen Morrow--and it ain't easy to steal ANYTHING from Karen Morrow.

And then of course, there was her completely perfect "Time Heals Everything" for Jerry Herman at the Hollywood Bowl.
