Every time I see it I enjoy it more, and find different parts of myself in it.
I love the opening sequence in the airport...

Addy - that openning sequence is when I cry the most - and what hooked me on the movie immediately for life. The narration during it is how I feel!
Every time I watch it, though, there's a little bit of sadness for what we've lost. I used to LOVE LOVE LOVE waiting at the gate for people to get off the plane (remember when they actually still wheeled the stairs up to the plane?) I can still remember my grandmother bending her head down to step through that door, and then she'd stand up and smile and wave.
Wow, I am crying about her for the first time in years.

oh my God, when he walks in to the restaurant, and in his bad Portuguese asks her to marry him, and she answers in English.......it just makes my heart melt.

Posted: 12/13/05 at 11:38amI just asked this on the other thread, but I always wonder about the future of Alan Rickman and Emma Thompson. Their issue seems to have no resolution...

The best friend in love with the wife, and when he shows up with the signs in my absolute favorite.. The whole movie is wonderful, but that moment makes me cry everytime..

...so, if you all come over to watch the movie I'll be sure to have lots of Kleenex!
There are so many moments in that movie that are so honest and moving.
To me, you are perfect.
One of the most beautiful moments in any movie, ever...
And, Emma Thompson's heartbreak is so raw and real. The betrayal and the hurt...
The proposal was as romantic as any scene in any movie I've ever seen. I cheered!
The touching acceptance of friends.
The devotion to family.
All of the faces of love.

SOMMS - I guess it's up to interpretation as to whether there are 'tidy endings'. I actually am in line with you on that front, and I find this movie totally gives me what I look for.
And DD, I answered in the other thread, but I'll answer here as well - yes, I think they do.

Posted: 12/13/05 at 11:52amSommsie, not all endings are happy but this movie is so honest and real it's hard not to connect with the characters.. I find it very easy to see many aspects of myself in this movie.. Some good some bad.. But Life is not all sunshine and roses..
