Don't worry, the magic red thread protects her from "negative energy," right?

Im not worried for her at all. She's worked hard enough and accomplished more than most people wish they could ever do in a lifetime.
but the stupid commentary...the negative speak..its like buzzards. picking. picking. picking. never satisfied with anybody else's success. there must be some unfulfilled emptiness in some people's lives..that they feel the need to pick pick pick.
whether its what they look like,..or what they wear..or whatever the case may be....and yet it continues. sad.

Taboo, you have to become immune to papa. He's means no harm. (Well he might, but still. . . he's effing hilarious.)
I think Namo's right, and I love her to pieces.

ive read most of papa's posts. and love papa at times. (just not today..lol) and its tolerated totally. i also love namo. but boredom on a monday night allures me to this board. and this is what i have to deal with. its the fire i started. so i blame myself. and now i have to deal with it.
I'm just not sure if by today's standards she should be inducted. But, I can see where you're coming from. If they let The Supremes in, then why not Madge?
No fire here. You got excited about something and posted it. I wish I was that brave. I normally wait for someone else to do it.

i know.. no one can ever just post something fun on here without someone tearing it down. but i guess that's that. its our society..we build people and things up to tear it down. and madonna surely has been through that many a times.
many a times.
so for that alone...she deserves to be inducted.
but with over 60 top 40 singles, many #1 albums, sellout tours all over the world and guiness world records for most singles sold and most #1 albums worldwide and concert grosses around the world.....
i mean....its the music that brought her to where she is. and people forget about the music.
she has written incredible pop staples throughout the last 25 years that define moments for people. and why knock that?
but yes...so has Kiss.

This is WAY out of my league, since I've never TRULY understood the real designation of 'rock', anyway - but if it's supposed to be about 'anti-establishment', isn't the existence of a supposed 'Rock Hall of Fame' rather oxymoronic?

She belongs in the Constructivism Hall of Fame.

In a 'Hall of Fame' that already includes The Supremes and The Bee Gees, why is Madonna out of place?
I'm not arguing for or against here, I'm just curious.
Pat Benatar...class...and didn't have to be political or controversial. Just damn talented...
After capturing industry ears with her showcases at New York's Catch A Rising Star, Benatar signed to Chrysalis Records and released the million selling "In The Heat of the Night" in 1979, followed by the multi-platinum "Crimes of Passion" a year later. From 1980-83, she captured an unprecedented four straight Grammys in the category "Best Rock Vocal Performance, Female" for the Top Five album "Crimes of Passion" ('80) and the hit singles "Fire and Ice" ('81), "Shadows of the Night" ('82) and "Love Is A Battlefield" ('83). With the latter, she emerged as one of the leading stars of the emerging music video scene with a Bob Giraidi-directed clip which proved to be an MTV mainstay.
She followed with the most successful album of her career in "Precious Time" ('81), which topped the U.S. charts. Platinum records "Get Nervous" ('82), "Live From Earth" ('83) and "Tropico" ('84)-came next, succeeded by gold records "Seven The Hard Way" ('84) -- which featured "Invincible," the theme from the hit movie Legend of Billie Jean, starringHelen Slater -- "Wide Awake In Dreamland" ('8, "Best Shots" ('89) and "True Love" ('91), her critically-acclaimed blues album which had her covering B.B. King's "Payin' The Cost To Be The Boss." The record was a labor of love for Benatar and husband/producer/long-time collaborator Neil Giraldo and proved the rock vocalist was equally adept at belting out the blues. In addition, Pat has been an active participant in numerous charity and fund-raising events, including Artists United Against Apartheid in 1985, and recorded a version of "Please Come Home For Christmas" in 1990 especially for the Desert Storm coalition troops who served in the Mideast during the Gulf War.
I don't understand why someone is arguing about Madonna's place in the Hall of Fame based on the fact that her music may not be considered rock and roll when the Hall of Fame has inducted other artists whose music may not have fit that criteria before.
I think the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has long sense just became an American Music Hall of Fame.
Yayyyyy MADONNA !!!!!!!!!! I love her, she's the best and deserves to be in the rock and roll hall of fame. People need to stop hateing on her. We all know she's the best :)

They're not all Americans, either.
Hence my confusion as to why ABBA is continually overlooked.
People from a certain era still have VERY strong feelings about the ABBA. Just ask Anthony Bourdain...
Madonna is a living legend. Deal with it.
All this debate about Madonna is making people over the look the fact that John Freakin' Cougar got inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. That's the real outrage.
And I repeat: where is ALICE COOPER?

So? It doesn't change the fact that they were a highly innovative and influential group that has never stopped being an international sensation for over 30 years even long after they disbanded. I don't mind Madonna was inducted. I get it. What I don't get is ABBA thus far never being inducted. It simply makes no sense.
