What MP3 players do you guys and girls have and what do/don't you like about it (Please explain why)? I am going to be getting one in the next couple of months and I want to know which one to get that will last me for a good while.

I have an iPod and I love it more than life itself. Seriously. No complaints.
Ditto the iPod/no complaints. I have one, and I totally want another (I covet the iPod video). I've had mine since about May of '04, no battery problems yet as I have heard that others have had, iTunes is easy to use, downloading my own cds onto it is easy to use, etc.- no complaints.
If my iPod was a man I would marry it. It really is amazing, I've yet to have a problem with it, and iTunes is lovely.

One thing I don't quite understand about iPods is the battery. Can it be replaced or not? And if it can't, do you have to buy a new iPod when the battery dies?

I think you have to have it sent in to Apple be replaced. And I think it has to be within the time period of the warranty (or under a service plan if you purchased that). But, again, I've never had problems with mine (had it for 2 years now) so I haven't had first hand experience with their repair service.

That doesn't really answer my question. How long does the warranty last? and if there is no warranty what do you do with the iPod once the battery is dead?
I've had my mp3 player(irock from RadioShack) for 7 years and when I need to replace a battery I buy some Duracell batteries and I'm ready to go. Does one have to purchase another iPod if there is no service plan?

(from what I understand, as my iPod battery has never died) iPod batteries are meant to only be recharged, not replaced. Once the ipod battery doesn't hold a charge anymore you can either 1- send it back to apple and pay to get the battery replaced or 2- there are websites out there that sell replacement batteries and you can replace it yourself, but these sites aren't exactly apple approved. But yeah the iPod uses its own battery, not just regular old Duracells or whatever like any other electronic.

I know a few people have Zens.
I have an iPod...love it to death, my only complaint is the ear buds. I'm always getting tangled up in them, but if they were wireless I'd just lose them, guess I'll have to live with it.
I used to have a Zen and it froze up about once an hour. It was very very annoying and after about 6 months it completely broke.
Now I have an iPod and have NEVER had any problems with it.
I have an ipod and love it to death. My only complaint about it is that the battery seems to go down rather quickly. Other than that, I love it!
I have a Dell DJ (though I affectionately refer to it as my DellPod). I really like it. It's 30 gig and runs about the price of an iPod mini (they don't even sell those anymore though, do they?). The only problem I've had with it thus far (a year) was with the earbuds, and I think I did the damage (something on the cord near where it plugs in got squashed or something, and it only worked through one ear). I called Dell and they sent a free replacement right away.
