I think this was already a post, but the battle is ongoing. I think Mad TV is getting it's edge back. I just saw the "Inside Looking Out" sketch about the interacial couple. I was so offended it was hilarious! I just tune into SNL to see the musical guest.

I think SNL will always reign supreme.
truth, you are correct in that SNL is sucking big time this season, however, it goes in cycles - always has. This is another bad one.
Who the hell is the host this week? He's awful.
Still, a "RickRickRick" sketch is always funny.
SNL is LAME
Normally a good show is when the sketches are funny up to the mid way point & die after that. Now, the only time it is sometimes funny is the opening bit. They used to excel with political humor. Once Ferrell left, it really took a nosedive.
MAD TV is something SNL IS NOT - consistently funny
Mad TV all the way. I also saw that sketch of the interracial couple, disturbing yet funny. Although I think Mad tv is a little cheap, and SNL does stuff more out of the ordinary. I love both, but MAD TV is the best.
The MAD Tv Peoples Court sketch was HILARIOUS! "But what had happened was - she threw grass in my yard!"
I still don't think SNL is as bad as people say, but I didn't like the host last night. Blah.
Does anyone else absolutely despise The Falconer? It's so stupid
i hate MAD TV.
Something inside me wants me to love SNL but i just cant do that eather,so much yelling, some scetches on SNL are good tho,i like the weekend update.
love Love LOVE MAD TV. Haven't been able to watch SNL in over 10 years - just never find it the least bit entertaining any more - but I like just about every sketch they do on Mad TV - I could do without the musical acts, but otherwise it's great.
I can't stand Mad TV in more than the tiniest of doses and SNL is without a doubt in one of its periodic "lows" I spend my Saturday nights actually out doing something now, or reading BWW.
its all about The Sketch Show on Sunday nights. that beats both of them.

"Mad TV" has some great sketches and characters, but I prefer "Saturday Night Live." The whole live element is what makes it really exciting for me.
Speaking of "SNL", I definitely walked right by Seth Meyers today down in the village. *swoons* So cute.
Mad TV's recurring characters was both a plus and a benefit. Plus in the sense that many of those characters were HILARIOUS (i.e. Vancome Lady, Stuart, Miss Swan, Latifa Bonifa), but a minus because they started to seem like a one-trick pony and didn't come up with anything fresh.
I tend to watch SNL and tape Mad TV. I only watch SNL depending on who the host or musical guest is, and because of Weekend Update. Problem is nowadays they don't get hosts who are funny; just people who have something to plug. (Tom Brady--HOT! Funny? Hell--NOT.) It's turned into a mugging show instead of a smart satire.
Using an athlete as a host always backfires. They just aren't even close to being up to the job. It's difficult for the finest actor to jump in and learn that much material in that amount of time.
The best SNL moment so far this season was the Ashton Kutcher monologue. I'm convinced he wrote it himself.
Remind me of that monologue...
Best SNL moment so far this season was U2's impromptu third number at the end of the show, but I suppose I'm biased.
And Ashlee Simpson's jig/walk-off. *hides from Rath's wrath*
The most surprisingly funny celeb who's hosted in the last few seasons is probably Justin Timberlake. I was pleasantly surprised.
And again, I implore of Lorne--PLEASE FIRE HORATIO. PLEASE. I realize all the actors have to audition - How did Horatio get through? I see no potential with him AT ALL.

I used to like Mad TV a long time ago...but then it turned into just pure penis and toilet humor. It was just getting disgusting. SNL was immature, but not like that (atleast the sketches I watched weren't). Mad TV can only do it for me sometimes...haven't watched it recently though. Hopefully it's doing better. SNL does seem to be going downhill. It used to have good sketches for like the first hour or so and then they had the stupid pointless ones-but I was watching last night-and they had the Falconer one on 30 minutes into the show. It's time for some new cast members...(after all, they do come up with the sketches, don't they?)
I think the Falconer is the stupidest recurring sketch they've had in a LONG time. Seriously. I wince in discomfort because I imagine the cast members realize it's unfunny, yet they do it again!!
I hope this is just a slump. Right now the female members are stronger than the males, which is great, but I miss Farrell et al.
Ashton's monologue started out with him asking why the media made such a big deal of the age difference between he and his g/f, then he brought her up onstage...ringing any bells?

The females are a lot stronger. I love Maya and Amy-they're frickin' hillarious! Amy sang on last night's episode in the little Middle Eastern food commercial. I wonder if she's good enough for Broadway?

Umm..have no clue what show you're watching. Apparently SNL is way above this cause when you do a brillant, non sexual, non funny running skit called "Merv The Perv", you know you are talking Masterpiece Theater.
SNL sucks. Plain and simple. And it has sucked for MANY years. This isn't just a "this year" thing. Horatio Sanz is an embarrisment. Maya can't act her way out of a paper bag (and just what the hell are those accents she does..or better..attempts to do?)...Will Forte..why is he there? I could go on.
MadTV has true, original talent. Stephanie Weir is amazing. Danielle Gather is hillarous. I can count on five hands how much more original MadTV is. A&F boys, Nursing Home TV Report, those black-sploitation movie take offs, the kid Dot, that Lillian-Vernon game show, Celebrity Poker with Dakota Fanning...I can go on.
Switch now cause it will take years for SNL to realize that the only ones laughing at their jokes are themselves.
These days, on Saturday nights, I'm usually too busy* to actually watch either but I definitely liked SNL better back in the early 90s with Mike Myers, Adam Sandler, Chris Farley, etc. These days, the sketches are hit or miss, and they're definitely scaping the bottom of the barrel with the hosts (Paris Hilton anyone?).
*because it's Dysfunctional Family Night on Soapnet and there's 2 hours of Dynasty
