I absolutely LOVE this! Maggie looks amazing! I clicked on Pal Joey's Downton Abbey link and discovered this. Had never seen it before!

Maybe I'm wrong, but I believe she was on more than once.

According to IMDb, Dame Maggie made three appearances:

S8 Ep 10--1974
S9 Ep 6--1975
S9 Ep 10--1975

You think, what do you want? You think, make a decision...

O M G! I absolutely LOVE this! LOVE IT! This has completely made my day. I grew up watching Carol Burnett and fell in love with Maggie Smith with the "Prime of Miss Jean Brodie"! Those Bob Mackie costumes are fabulous and just look at those bodies! Wow! Thanks for making my day with this clip!

I love these, and I've also been re-watching the Sonny & Cher show. Just as spectacular!

I remember when this aired, feeling very disappointed that they just ripped-off JULIE AND CAROL AT CARNEGIE HALL. I had the same feeling, re-watching it. Couldn't they have come up with something original for Maggie?

I don't care if it's a rip-off or even if it's not original. I just LOVE it! I also LOVE Julie Andrews with Carol Burnett! Actually- I LOVE Carol Burnett with everyone!

I actually think Carol Burnett could have given us a wonderful Rose in her hey-day. She can do little wrong in my book (I even like her in the Annie movie, even though I know there are a lot of people who share the opposite opinion on this board)

Can't recall the name of this song though!

So whenever two classy broads sit together on stools and do something brilliant, it's a ripoff?

I don't get it.

Look! I used the letter "b" above. It's been done. So get over it.

I sang an F above high C.

It's been done. So get over it.

Everything else is a copycat.

I think the only problem with this is the narrow vision it takes to even make a comment like that.

I always thought she looked a little like Jane Krakowski in the parent teacher conference sketch on Carol Burnett.

My favorite is her as Tim Conway's lady friend in the Nina, the Pinta, and the STINKY sketch.

I don't WANT to live in what they call "a certain way." In the first place I'd be no good at it and besides that I don't want to be identified with any one class of people. Besty, I'm speaking of them singing the song written for Julie and Carol. To me those lyrics belong to Julie, not Maggie. Why not write something new? Not that they sat next to one another on stools.

Two out of three of Maggie's appearances are on DVD. The third one includes "Stinky" as well as a musical finale of Alan Jay Lerner.

Did Maggie do a lot of musical theater? Other than 'Lettice and Lovage' I could not find much of anything.I love the Cockney song she teaches Carol!
